Dood 💀 [GUTTER PLANET] ☢️
@cspstuff
He/They / Illustrator / Sometimes 🔞 / Creating GUTTER PLANET with @scormond.bsky.social, a Post-Apocalyptic TTRPG.
Me presenting @scormond.bsky.social with ideas. #GutterPlanet
Last thing I've done: some examples of critters and kinds of vegetation found at #GutterPlanet Everything is dangerous or gross btw.
Finished inks will look like this. Here the Sin Eater and the Granddaughers of Gloom leader, Dimmet Strychnine.
Argument between silhouette factions (sketch for one of the Full Guide illustrations). The vessel of the sister is the usual kind of mismatched armor pieces. The Sin Eater wears and ancient sculpture of some animal monstrosity. #GutterPlanet
I have this running joke with the Gutter Planet playtest team that only makes ME laugh where every time Shane describes critters or smaller monsters or animals I draw them like this.
The first version of GP had four careers you could choose from: Meat Shield, Sawbones, Scum Smuggler and Void Junkie (pics in order). I did an abstract totem/item for each of them, trying to convey how I pictured them. #GutterPlanet
Ethnography of the Wretched. Once they were the rulers of the planet. Nowadays they scramble to get by at the margins of the gutter. For them I drew masks, which define whole families, clans and personal identities. #GutterPlanet
Ethnography of the Skell. Born from the remains of others, skells are a people of whim and opportunity, forever looking for a place that feels true. For them I drew a skell outfit, stitched from many different rags. Self-expression is essential. #GutterPlanet
Ethnography of the Swarm. There are many swarms, each group in commune with a different insect god, which ask for favors in exchange of knowledge and guidance. For them I drew a craft in progress which talks about the story of the swarm peoples. #GutterPlanet
Ethnography of the Silhouette. Shadows are an arcaic people, focusing their efforts on studying the past and trying to bring back crafts, ideas and methods. For them I drew a illuminated-manuscript-like scroll depicting some kind of creation myth. #GutterPlanet
Here some quick sketches from the playtest sessions. Many a peoples in this world. #GutterPlanet
A bit different of a post, but here's some personal refs when discussing with Shane how I wanted the machines in GP to look. The first two are FFX enemies and the others Mirrodin Block (MtG) artifact creatures. #GutterPlanet
They walk the Filth Plains aimlessly, longing for the touch of another, unaware that they are burning alive. #GutterPlanet
Ogs are filthy, rotten creatures. Malformed since birth, with barely-functioning bodies, they are nonetheless dangerous predators, specially when in numbers. #GutterPlanet
The Neck is the "de facto" ruler of Bonebelly. While of wretched origin, no one seems to know who they were before. Their mask was lost long ago and nowadays theirs is the face of the city. #GutterPlanet
Right now I'm working on a GP illustration with the Sin Eater and another character. The Sin Eater belongs to a silhouette faction that believes shadows should never use vessels or walk the world. They are the faction's messenger above ground. #GutterPlanet
Still standing, a lethal war machine from a long-gone age. It wanders the planet, searching for something that is not there anymore. Though slow, its artillery remains in perfect condition. #GutterPlanet
If you must leave Bonebelly and venture the Filth Plains, then you need a water bear. These beasts of burden are extremely resilient to the deadly weather beyond the city, while remaining fairly docile. #GutterPlanet
