From Steveston, BC, but I appear in a metaverse near you. "Cubey Terra" in #SecondLife
I'm 47 minutes into THE STAR WARS MANDALORIAN AND GROGU, and I can definitely say that is a sequence of events presented on screen. It's pretty. And it looks expensive. Hoping it gets better.
GLOVIS This behemoth looks almost too big to fit up the river, but it does! #CarFerry
I spotted this colorful rainbow cloud looking south from Steveston a few minutes ago. It started blue and drifted through green, yellow, and red, then vanished. #rainbowcloud #Steveston
Objects in 1:350 scale: * The USS Enterprise * Shuttle "Galileo" * A Mazda 3 * A humpback whale #scalemodel #startrek #tharbewhaleshere
DONE. Sitting back and relaxing now. Ignoring flaws. Kit: POL938/04 USS Enterprise from TOS (you know, "Those Old Scientists"?). Started Feb 2025, built on-and-off in sections. What do I DO with it now? Spock, do SOMETHING! Regular shelving can't hold it! 🖖 #StarTrek #scalemodel #ussenterprise
From my workbench today. This thing is ridiculously large. 😬 Where will I even put this? Anyway, it's almost done. I started in Feb 2025. 😥 #scalemodel #StarTrek #ussenterprise #model
Granite Boulder for sale in Surrey, BC. Only $90,000! Pick up only. (FB Marketplace)
I love it when a crow spots me from the top of a tree two blocks away and makes an excited bee-line straight for me. It's all for the peanuts. #crows
I'm printing a tiny starship for some reason. Gold star if you recognize it. 🖖 #StarTrek
Guess who accidentally left his key in the ignition while parked #Steveston. Thanks to a kindly motorcyclist who brought it to me, my bike wasn't stolen. #facepalm 🤦♂️ #motorcycle
I had to pass on this deal, but it's nearly killing me. That's a whole lot of fun for the price. Oog. #motorcycles #motosky
And this is how you turn a person into an unwilling drone servant: screw a resistor into their neck. How many ohms is that? Yellow, white, red, gold? 492 ohms, +/- 5% tolerance? (watching KISS and the West World Phantom or whatever)
At a café, I browsed a catalogue of models, chose one, configured the options on my printer, and remotely started the print. Honestly, I can't imagine needing to remote print often, but it is kinda cool — until I it fails. There's still no way to clear a failed print remotely. #3dPrinting
Is Isle of Lewis as dangerous as Midsomer? Presently reading THE BLACK LOCH, the 4th book in the Lewis Trilogy, and there has been a murder*. 👍 ( @authorpetermay.bsky.social ) *I am not normally enthusiastic about murder, really
I printed a humpback whale at the same scale as a Klingon Bird-of-Prey model. I feel like it's doubtful that this ship has an empty space for two adult whales (see ST4 The Voyage Home 🖖). Here, I've depicted the rooftop alternative. 🐋 Both models are in 1:350 scale. #StarTrek #TharBeWhalesHere
After searching for #SecondLife builds (see bsky.app/profile/cube...) from VIRTUALLY DEAD (Peter May), I that I wrote a little vignette about the END of Second Life, and it is also set at Abbotts Aerodrome. Here's my virtual-post-apocalypse from 2010: cavers.ca/the-oldbie/
"Behind him, a large fishpond caught the light, and he saw a frog sitting on a waterlily looking at him." ("Chas" speaking in Peter May's VIRTUALLY DEAD). It's name is Bibblefrog. It goes "bibble" at passers-by. #SecondLife
