A great exhibit during my Stockholm adventures, the 400 year old shipwreck known as the Vasa. Recovered nearly whole by the Swedish navy decades ago, and had 3 stage airlock doors to the museum just to see it! The size and detail of this ship is bonkers
Some tasty memories from Stockholm: the best toast skagen I've ever had, the beautiful and elusive princess cake, forbidden Cuban rum, and bougie salmon omelets!
Sorry I've been MIA y'all... i was on another adventure in Finland! This time with a side quest in Stockholm Sweden. I'll get to sharing some pics soon! Here's one from central Helsinki to start: (I miss tye crisp weather already 😭)
Also been a while since i made my blackberry crumble cobbler with a splash of Irish whiskey in the filling 😎
Almost forgot...made some poblano cream pasta with shrimp for dinner last night! So good there was none leftover 😅
Made some Japanese curry recently and here's proof 😅 Haven't been cooking as much lately but it's probably because I feel a bit burnt out and generally unmotivated. This too shall pass
So the bf and I went to New Orleans almost a month ago and the beignets alone were worth it! Also went to one of the oldest spots in town: Tujacques, the creators of the original grasshopper cocktail
Went to a rural used book shop recently and the shop cats are so relaxed (yes they are 2 different kitties) 😁
Friday night I made some Vietnamese style rice bowls with marinated swai fish and sautéed amaranth And for dessert a very orangey pound cake!
Celebrated the wonderful Mr Finland's unofficial birthday this weekend (technically his birthday is February 29th sooo, close enough lol). Festivities included a lunar new year dinner and traditional lion dancers, cocktails at the newest joint in town and a David Nihill comedy show(not pictured)
Also made some kimchi fried rice on valentine's week...a great way to give leftovers a new life! It's somewhat in regular rotation in my home and very well received too
Valentine's week in the kitchen included this Spanish comfort food: lentajas estofadas (lentil stew) with blood sausage and some toasty, crusty bread. Mr Finland was in love for sure 😂
I need to get back to posting more cooking stuff because I gotta stay away from the doomscrolling... So anyway! On Monday I made Thail Penang curry pork with veggies and rice! (It made Mr Finland sweat a little 😂)
Mustn't forget the flowers and candy...of course ordinary chocolates simply won't do 😅
Then off to tiki land for adorable vibes and fruity cocktails! (Had to keep the super cute cocktail charms lol)
ICYMI: valentine's edition! Treated to some flamenco sounds and some Spanish eats...
ICYMI: made some of my popular spanakopita (spinach and feta pies) and had some celebratory smoked old fashioneds for the Seahawks win on Sunday 🎉
ICYMI: First low key new years in quite a long time. Felt kinda weird but also necessary...is this what getting old feels like?? 😅 Hope yall had a good one! I've been pretty burnt out lately so I just didn't have it in me to get out there with the rest of you rascals
Mr Finland is very thoughtful and restocked one of my local-ish favorites in my coffee collection 😊
Made another batch of spanakopita and this time Mr Finland was my sous chef 😉
Last night I was a one woman truffle factory 😅 Made my famous peanut butter cheesecake truffles to be exact (3 phases of truffle making pictured below)
Went to Houston this weekend and indulged in some Uzbeki cuisine, Vietnamese pub grub, and Greek eats with the most magical bechamel I've ever had 🤩
