thinking about the projects i’m proud of now that construction is just data centers. this is one of two schools we renovated here in Baltimore, before and after. kids getting heat/AC where they didn’t have any, spacious classrooms, huge gyms, all of it. never felt more proud of anything in my life

i would like to see more of this kind of thing: tool-balancing exoskeletons to help workers work safely. the workers hate these lol but we should be doing R&D to make construction as safe as possible for human beings, not trying to replace them with shitty robots
construction robotics can be cool but it’s not scalable. JLG Canvas (a drywall finishing robot) for example, this is a neat idea but the drywall has to be perfectly plumb and square, tape and mud work needs to be flawless, and again, you need a tech to operate it
over 1500 craft workers on site every day at peak, $1M/day burn rate, 6M+ manhours in just a few years. insane experience to be on a megaproject like this
