“[Anas Al Sharif] truly gave voice to the pain of Palestinians and Gaza. He gave voice to Gaza’s women, Gaza’s wounded, Gaza’s starvation, Gaza’s empty stomachs.” bit.ly/livingrecord
“Journalists here are the eyes of the people to whom the world is blind.” An incredible oral archive from Writers Against the War on Gaza collects the testimony of Palestinian journalists remembering and honoring their colleagues killed by Israel: bit.ly/livingrecord
The tide is turning and labor is catching up! 🌊 ✊ From one month ago:
ATL! 🍑 Come hang out downtown next week! Meet other CWA members based in and around Atlanta as well as CWA4P organizers in town for the CWA Human Rights conference! Let's talk about anti-war, anti-imperialist, pro-worker organizing in our unions ✊
On August 10, 2025, journalist Anas Al Sharif was assassinated alongside four colleagues in an Israeli airstrike targeting a media tent outside of Al-Shifa hospital. The rank-and-filers of CWA4P will stand for press freedom and in solidarity with the Palestinian cause until liberation.
"So then when we go to our membership and say, 'Hey, by the way, what do you think about this primary?' They go, 'Well, we're not moved by anybody because the Democrats have consistently went back on their word.'" from Jimmy Vielkind for @wnyc.org @gothamist.com Politics Brief:
The @chicagonewsguild.bsky.social human rights committee is hosting a teach-in about labor solidarity with Palestine, open to all CWA members and staff, on Tuesday, 7/21 at 6:00 pm CT/7:00 pm ET. Don’t miss this! 🇵🇸 bit.ly/cngpalestine
Members of unions and professional organizations have shouted their support for Palestinian workers, only to be muffled by the leaders who are supposed to represent them. The resulting rank-and-file disillusionment means unions lose their electoral influence. truthout.org/articles/lab...
Since Oct 2023, rank-and-file democracy has flourished in the form of solidarity with Palestine—only to be stifled by union leadership again and again. Last month, we saw unions lose big in NYC. Here’s how this is all connected ⬇️ @truthout.org truthout.org/articles/lab...
Specific top-level Biden officials are responsible for the decisions, funding, weapons, diplomatic cover, lies and propaganda that enabled Israel’s genocide in Gaza. Where are they now? cwa4p.org/news/holding...

The Democratic Party—and the organized labor establishment—must ensure that these failed officials are not given the responsibility of public service ever again.
Over on X, Senator Brian @schatz.bsky.social says we need a refresh in foreign policy personnel. We agree! But we do think that some people should be blacklisted…. bidenadmingaza.my.canva.site
These officials should be retired, not rehabilitated. bidenadmingaza.my.canva.site
These are not leaders who will fight for the working class. bidenadmingaza.my.canva.site
Despite their complicity in genocide, attempts to rehabilitate the Biden administration officials who helped arm and enable Israel’s assault on Gaza are already underway.

"Victims of Israel’s attack on Gaza who could be expected to elicit sympathy from audiences — like journalists and children — received little coverage during the first 100 days of Israel’s assault, compared to their counterparts in Ukraine."
Israel’s targeting and killing of media workers across the region has created the deadliest conflict on record for journalists. Western media has failed Palestine. #WorldPressFreedomDay cwa4p.org/news/cwa-jou...

The US war machine is out of control. Politicians, corporations, and billionaire profiteers who are making violence possible against our communities here and abroad must hear from us this May Day. @acrecampaigns.bsky.social @opinorg.bsky.social Register for 4/20 at 7:00pm ET: bit.ly/nowarmayday
2 years ago, Google workers protested the internal culture of hate and abuse against Arab, Palestinian, and Muslim workers. The company retaliated by firing 50 workers. Join @notechforapartheid.bsky.social and others for on 4/18 for the #techlash livestream: fired50.org/techlash
PPSWU shared with us images of the post office headquarters in Gaza City: after (first three images) and before the war (4th image)
PPSWU was recently able to prepare 40 food packages for low-income kindergarten workers in Hebron in the West Bank. The union president used her own home as a temporary space to prepare and organize the distribution of the food parcels.
