I got big thick bouncy soles and yes it is easier on my knees and back when I cooking. What?! You don’t wear socks with your sandals? (Got them 1/2 off) Also I use those bouncy mats.

Mr W took me to Cheesecake Factory for a treat for lunch. We’re picking up prescriptions and a return to Dick’s. Yes I do have an Oreo cheesecake slice in a bag for later. How did you know?

For dinner last night, I did a quick stirfry of peppers onions and chicken. I bought “sweet” garlic and chopped that. I think it’s just early garlic. It’s a lighter softer taste but still there. I make a sauce to go on of hoisin, soy, coconut sugar (or brown sugar), chili oil, water and corn flour.

Yellow and red peppers chopped bite-size. Chicken pieces. Brown sauce and white rice on a white plate.

This bumblebee fell asleep on the flower. I watched her to see if she was okay. Other bees came round and she woke up soon enough, went back to work and flew off.

We are sitting outside because a big thunderstorm is predicted with 80 mph winds. Winds from every direction are blowing toward us. I like to watch and feel for them to come in. We’ll go in when it gets exciting. It’s 84° now, down from 98° last night and it’s 70% humidity. Wet blanket season.

Show us a book that’s beside your chair or bed. (No desk books allowed!) Mine is a wonderful bestiary I bought at an obscure castle in rural France. I love the memories, the beasts and especially the birds! One is a very regal and quietly disdainful owl. 🦉

Fresh strawberry cake! It’s like a clafoutis but I think it has more cake. Recipe in the next post. Thank goodness my rheumatoid arthritis flair up is calming down and I can move around again. Blessings to my doctor! ❤️

It’s very delicious! It has a champagne simple syrup brush on the cake. The filling is cream cheese, whipped cream, strawberries and champagne. The frosting has fresh strawberries too and the color is from the berries. She was very happy! The grandsons loved it too!
