I recently had a very specific hankering and endeavored to pick up some used Star Trek novels. I’m reading them in chronological order, and this was first, from 1981. I enjoyed the hell out of this! It’s been awhile since I’ve read any science fiction prose at all. Crom was this fun.

I watched Dredd again yesterday. I’ve seen it several times now. Crom, I love that movie. Once I start thinking about that movie, I have to watch the movie. Once I’ve seen the movie, I’m thinking about the movie… and I feel the urge to watch it again.

There are regular old movie movies, and then there are really, really f*cked up movies. Lee Cronin’s The Mummy (2026) falls squarely in the latter category. Not a perfect film by any means, but not at all what I was expecting, and to me that is its greatest strength. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Our high school junior bought this book for a little light reading. It has nothing to do with any of her classes. It’s just that, at 16 years old, I’d say she’s already more aware than the majority of the people who vote in U.S. elections, and a good chunk of the people holding office. #dadbrag

I really, REALLY enjoyed this. Highest recommendation. Not a huge stretch, considering how much I already enjoyed the comic books as they were coming out, but I’m a legitimate fan of Erik Burnham’s writing style here. Great stuff. I am, of course, immediately going back to reread the comics.

After taking a bit of a break from the Disney+ cavalcade of Marvel tv shows, I’m enjoying the helloutof Daredevil: Born Again. It’s got me right back to feeling the excitement of those early Marvel Netflix days, anticipating each new episode.

If you’re a “Conan comics” fan, but sleeping on the new Titan SSOC magazine… First of all, what the Hell?!? And secondly, there’s never been a better time to jump on. I just watched an episode of The Big Valley (In Silent Battle) from 1968 where Adam West plays a deranged alcoholic with an unhealthy crush on Audra (Linda Evans) and all is right in the world. (Well, not really… but, at least all seems right for a few fleeting minutes.)

⭐️ FUN back issue bin FIND. ⭐️ Every now and then I need my Star Trek fix, and I’m a sucker for an oversized issue. In this case, two 22 page stories, both of which were most enjoyable, with solid art throughout.

Why, Why, WHY?!? (⚠️SPOILERS⚠️ for a 35 year old comic book.) Why did the random Punisher comic that I grabbed for a light, fun read have to be the one where Frank’s dog, Max, gets killed? 🥺 You expect to see criminals getting what for, but I wasn’t expecting Mike Baron to go full John Wick. 😩

George Soros paid my daughters good money to make signs and show up to march in Arizona this morning. 😉 🤣

Stumbled upon this in the back issue bins recently. So damn good. A curated collection of some of Jonah Hex’s earliest adventures. A very nice glimpse into the development of the character featuring some absolutely gorgeous artwork.

A long time coming, but I finally managed to procure (in the wild) both Sherlock Holmes issues of Marvel Preview for an uninterrupted and sublime reading experience. It was worth the wait. I thought they were glorious.

I had never read this before and I it was really pretty darn good. Looked great, obviously, but a very solid read. #IronMan #128 (1979)

They did it! They really did it. They finally made a really good #FantasticFour movie that’s not called #TheIncredibles. 👍👍 (I highly recommend the IMAX 3-D.)

Cracks me up that they were so gung-ho to get the word out that they put together an ad without one single speck of official art from the actual project. Crazy. 😄
