Fucking losing it on these guys giving themselves cosmetic elephantiasis as a form of gender affirming care, only to render themselves infertile.
It’s been a struggle - I’m realizing how much more I prefer DFW’s essays and journalism to his fiction. I feel like I’m just taking fire hosed prose into my orbitals. Then this popped up on my memories today and reminded me that the book actually pissed me off the first time through. 🤣
I seem to get the Budweiser/Grand Funk Railroad ad constantly on my MLB feed - it’s become a running joke with Doug (who had never gotten it on his feed until he went to the Midwest) that we just send the “American Band” finger every time the song comes on.
Day 1374 of Interval Training: First 10K since the accident, mid-70s, very humid, struggling like Brandon Sproat (the game wasn’t exactly kicking my pace into gear).
Day 1373 of Interval Training: Rest day 5K walk - listened to the new Jack White and Rolling Stones albums. I prefer NO NAME to the new JW, but it’s solid - better than the couple before that. Stones album has a couple cringey tracks but it’s actually no slouch. When it rocks, it rocks.
Darling, I love you as you are when you're alone I'll never try to change you As if I could, and if I were to, what's the part that I'd miss most?
Played the new Rolling Stones track with Paul McCartney on bass and Nicole absolutely hated the vocals and lyrics, so of course I had to learn it to taunt her. It’s actually got a pretty banging bass line!
Still haven’t been able to get an appointment for hand PT, so I’m making up my own treatment plan.
Haven’t been at N/Naka since before COVID (although we did order their bento boxes during lockdown a couple times). Locked in to go back with Jen and Rachel this month. Pumped!
Got some 5 string practice in today - I feel like guitar playing is actually helping my rehab, but I will say that my fretting hand does get tired and a bit sore after about an hour. We’ll get there.
Day 1372 of Interval Training: Almost 80 before 10. This humidity is stifling! Ran past our first LA apartment because we’ve been here for 20 years this week (well, 14 of those have been part time for me). Never thought when we packed that U-Haul from Wisconsin it would be forever.
You must be unfamiliar with our alt uniform, featuring the Wisconsin Cryptid Barrelman.
