There are so many options! One of his favorite places to lay was right at the top of the basement stairs, blocking the doo. He’d also find the only piece of bare floor without a rug and get stuck there! God I miss him so much.
We got Tiberius’s ashes back today, and in discussing where he should go, Bean suggested we put him in the middle of the kitchen and have him move around on the floor so that he’s always inconvenient and in the way, just like before.
The only solace I can find right now is that he never knew a single day without love, even this last one.

I’m kind of convinced that that’s what midlife is about— reaching the “fuck it” phase and remembering who we wanted to be and what we loved about ourselves and wholeheartedly embracing it all, complexity and messiness be damned. Because, yeah me too.
I literally started on a whim. Got some scrap glass by the pound, a soldering iron, and a $10 table from ReStore and put it in the garage by the back door for solder air flow.

This is my kid Bean. He has Autism. He's been on the Today Show and in People Magazine and a grocery store named a peanut butter after him. He raised thousands of dollars for autism research and donated thousands in proceeds to hunger projects. His lacrosse team held a special game to honor him.
