This story is also a useful lesson on capacity factor, with this graphic from the always dependable @cooljerk.bsky.social. An Ohio bill says a power plant must have a 50 percent capacity factor to be deemed reliable, a benchmark that is a stretch for almost all technologies, based on 2024 averages:

The good news: I got five boxes of 40-count Barry’s Tea for 99 cents each. The bad news: it’s so cheap because my local store will no longer carry it and wants to clear out inventory. I imagine this was afoot before tariffs.

At a grocery store, Barry’s tea is being sold for 99 cents for. 40-count because the item will no longer be stocked at this store. Barry’s, the pride of Ireland, is very good tea.
