just to be clear, the people who popularized "false memories" and fear mongered about "recovered memory therapy", people uncritically cited in this video, are the same people pushing "rapid onset gender dysphoria" and fear mongering about gender affirming therapy today
this is a lie based on the absolutely bonkers belief that most parents *want* to believe their children have been molested, as opposed to the reality which is that children often struggle to get their parents to believe something most parents desperately want to believe is not true.

yeah so i genuinely recommend you check out ross cheit's work on this issue, which points out that baran's case is one of the very very few examples of a genuine wrongful conviction in the daycare abuse cases of the 80s & 90s

these were not women who were merely concerned with "government overreach" and seeking non-carceral alternatives to protect children from sexual predators. these people were openly supportive of nambla and explicitly argued that children have a "right" to "choose" sex with adults.
