Framing Gen Ed as general skills you should have picked up in high school is not great. Gen Ed is abt exposing students to a wide range of topics they would never be exposed to or expose themselves to. It also allows students to meet other students from different backgrounds & interests.

Nothing to see here. It's just Musk discovering why the humanities are vital at Tesla despite his constant promotion of AI, a tool that prevents people from improving their ability to communicate effectively. The ability to communicate effectively with words and things is the humanities.
