My awesome new JU-ON t-shirt arrived, so I thought I should finally watch @sarahappleton.bsky.social's THE J-HORROR VIRUS to celebrate.

A t-shirt in need of ironing with a kawaii image of Sadako and Toshio, the vengeful ghosts from the JU-ON films. Toshio is saying "meow" as is his wont. Japanese kanji says "JU-ON: THE GRUDGE" (I've checked).

Oh they can fuck *right* off with this. Why should I pay for the hard-right propaganda of BBC News and Current Affairs just because I use streaming services? The BBC is failing because it is shit. The government shouldn't be punishing users of other services to shore it up.

The current licence fee only covers those watching live television or iPlayer, but BBC executives and government figures accept the definition is now outdated.

There are signs that the fee will be expanded to include anyone who watches streaming services such as Netflix, Disney+ or Amazon Prime, with the fee potentially added to subscriptions for those services.

He was handed a 14-day suspended sentence. He had previously posted a statement about the incident, which happened when he was 19, calling it a "stupid mistake".[30][31]
