You probably know me from the VGM scene (I run the team that runs @ocremix.org), but On Here I’m rediscovering Bollywood movies and music. Partial to the 90s/00s era.
I want an entire feature film that’s just low-poly PSX-era anime. You know what I’m talking about. Where they just change the texture on the head model for different facial expressions. Give me a whole movie of that.
The Star Wars buyout-and-continuity-reset casualty I mourn the most is the Imperial Knights.
As a lifelong Batgirl fan (like, all of them), I’d love a Tam Fox Batgirl book.
Albus Changes the World is being simulpubbed on Viz’s app. This is one of my favorite fantasy mangas running right now. I rank this up there with Frieren, DunMeshi, and Witch Hat. It’s at 85 chapters right now. Not to be missed.
"Sentenced to Be a Hero" blew my mind. Phenomenal fantasy show in a sea of rote isekai faff.
Not sure who needs to hear this but getting back into SF6 reminded me that there’s a very cool Big Strong Lady x Big Strong Lady vibe with Manon and Marisa. These ladies are tall roommates. They’re the second book in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
There's a new Indian lady in Overwatch. Should I go back? I'm still hurting from the constant Symmetra kit changes from 1,000,000 years ago.
TOEI: "We're ending #SuperSentai after 50 years and kicking off a new era of heroes with PROJECT R.E.D. The inaugural entry will be a new iteration of #SpaceSheriffGavan." Also TOEI:
I'm not getting back into TCGs but I did buy "Lorcana: Palace Heist," which is a self-contained PvE version of Lorcana that's like the old Cryptozoic WoW Dungeon/Raid decks. I used to have a *ball* playing "Battle of the Aspects" and "Caverns of Time." Looking forward to this one.
Nothing so specific in The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, I’m afraid. Just did a quick scan.
There are many types of reply-guys but one of my personal faves is the “My wife is a lawyer” guy. I have seen this a handful of times and it never fails to amuse. Just keep riding those coat-tails, bub. (Bonus: he did not, in fact, stop there.)
Shoulda done this a while ago but adding Fandom to my blocked domains in Kagi.
Everyone should watch “The 86.” I’ve never seen an anime so thoughtfully explore the themes of war, privilege, personhood, and guilt and wrap that all up in a beautiful, heart-wrenching narrative. The look of it, the sound of it; it’s just a masterpiece. Incredibly relevant.
