Blade of Soul Stealing

Weapon (any sword), legendary (requires attunement)

You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

When you hit with an attack using this magic sword, the target takes an extra 1d6 cold damage.

Devour Soul. Whenever you use it to reduce a creature to 0 hit points, the sword slays the creature and devours its soul, unless it is a construct or an undead. A creature whose soul has been devoured by the sword can be restored to life only by a wish spell, or if the soul is freed.

Soul Collector. For each soul consumed by this weapon, it becomes more powerful. Track the total number of souls collected. The sword gains additional abilities at the following milestones:

Legendary Actions

The pit fiend can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The pit fiend regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

Strike. The pit fiend makes a Claw or Mace attack.

Hellfire Rain (Costs 2 Actions). The pit fiend makes balls of hellfire fall in 4 points within 60 feet. Each creature within a 5-foot radius around that point must make a DC 21 Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 16 (2d8 + 7) fire damage, or half as much on a success. This fire damage ignores resistance, and creatures immune to fire take half damage instead of none.

Right Behind You. The pit fiend teleports to an open space next to one creature within 60 feet. If that creature is afraid of it, it can make a Mace attack against it with advantage.

Channel Divinity
At 2nd level, you gain the ability to channel divine energy
directly from your oath, using that energy to fuel magical
effects. You start with two such effects: an effect determined by
your domain, and Sacred Weapon.
When you use your Channel Divinity, you choose which
option to use. You must then finish a short or long rest to use
your Channel Divinity again.
Some Channel Divinity effects require saving throws. When
you use such an effect from this class, the DC equals your
paladin spell save DC.
Beginning at 6th level, you can use your Channel Divinity
twice between rests, and beginning at 18th level, you can use it
three times between rests. When you finish a short or long rest,
you regain your expended uses.

Righteous Conviction
At 3rd level your sheer conviction becomes honed into a
weapon you can use to strike down your foes. You can spend 1
or more uses of this feature to cast a "smite" spell at a rank
equal to the number of uses spent. The maximum number of
uses you can spend at once is equal to the highest rank paladin
spell you can prepare.
You have a number of uses this feature equal to your
Charisma modifier (minimum of 1). You can expend 1 hit die
during a short rest to regain a number of uses of this feature
equal to half your proficiency bonus, or you regain all uses once
you finish a long rest.

Extra Attack
Beginning at 5th level, you can attack twice, instead of once,
whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.
The number of attacks increases to three when you reach
11th level in this class and to four when you reach 17th level in
this class.

Sacred Aura
Starting at 6th level, your conviction projects from you in a 10
foot radius while you aren't incapacitated. The form this aura
varies, choose on of the following options below.
This aura and any other auras you may get from your oath
increase to 30 feet at 18th level.
Aura of Courage
You and friendly creatures within your aura can't be frightened
or turned.
Aura of Menace
When a hostile creature starts its turn within your aura it must
make a saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed
save, the creature is frightened of you while it remains in this
aura. A creature can repeat this saving throw at the end of its
turn to end the effect early.
Once a creature succeeds on this save, it is immune to your
aura for 24 hours.

Actions

Multiattack. The deathclaw makes two Claw attacks, if it isn't grappling a creature. If both attacks hit the same target, it is grappled automatically.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d6 + 4) slashing damage. Hit or Miss: the deathclaw makes a grapple attempt against the target. While grappling a creature, a deathclaw cannot use that hand to attack.

Execute. The deathclaw lifts a Small or smaller creature, or Medium creature not wearing heavy armor it has grappled by one hand before skewering it with the other. The creature must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes ~50 piercing damage and half as much bleeding. On a success, the creature takes half as much damage and is not bleeding.

Prickly Hide. A creature that touches the quillbeast or hits it with a melee attack while within 5 feet of it takes 7 (2d6) piercing damage.

False Appearance. While the quillbeast remains half burrowed and motionless, it is indistinguishable from a dry spiky bush.
Actions

Quill Rush. The quillbeast runs at least 10 feet in a straight line, if it can, towards a creature. If it ends its movement within 5 feet of that creature, the target must then make a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the target takes 3 (1d4 + 1) bludgeoning damage plus 7 (2d6) piercing damage.

Quill Shot. Ranged Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, range 20/40 ft., one target Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) piercing damage.

Bristle Barrage (Recharge 6). The quillbeast arches it's back and releases a storm of sharp needles in a 10-foot radius within 60 feet. All creatures within the area must make a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw or take 17 (4d6 + 3) piercing damage or half as much on a failed save.
