A Great Crested Grebe, a water bird. It has a distinct appearance with striking black, brown and c white plumage. And an especially an interesting feathers on its head sticking up and a long pointed beak.

It was, for a desert in the middle of summer and a heat wave I was really surprised to see so many. The ponds were either dry or really low. Because of that the birds were really far away, glad 8 brought the 800. I wish I had brought 2 other things, tripod and an umbrella. The sun was intense

One of my favorites from a couple hours at the Henderson Bird Viewing preserve near Las Vegas. This Anna's hummingbird perched in a perfect place with the out of focus leaves looking like an aura. #birds I would have stayed longer but 110f and very little shade made it tough lol

Another bird from Italy, this Hooded crow was in Milan near the Castello Sforzesco.

I could use to miss a meal or two this holiday season since I made my Easter pies for Thanksgiving this year 😬😬🤣.

Two homemade deepdish Italion pies affectionately named Apizza Gain or Pizza Rustica depending on where in Italy it was made. The pies are just out of the oven with a golden basket weave top crust in a 9" springform pan traditionally used for cheese cakes .

Look at this smug fuck. You can tell her thinks he's some kind of hot shit, but don't be fooled, because he often gets chased around by smaller birds such as crows. He can be found just about anywhere in North America, even big cities like New York, which might be why he's such a prick. He sometimes kills pigeons, so that's a plus, but basically he's just another asshole with talons and a high opinion of himself.

We saw a Bald Eagle nest on the Ct River cruise Friday that's has egg(s) I zoomed in on the nest and saw the adult that's caring for the egg(s) #birds ##raptors 🦅🪶
