If they have to close public beaches due to elevated bacteria levels, they should be required to disclose the cause of the elevated bacteria levels.
Had to get about 3/4 of the way through the article to find out what the root cause of the problem is.
Not the result we wanted, but a good time was had. On to the next round!
The funniest thing about this is that the Toronto Rock have played in Hamilton for 5 years, so he’s technically challenging the wrong Mayor.
The Mayor is touting the importance of literacy and early access to books, after having led efforts to: 1) spend the library reserve fund on non-library items; 2) reduce library staffing/funding; 3) cut school library staff.
Today’s @halifaxexaminer.ca features the most @timbousquet.bsky.social article humanly imaginable.
Also, here is a list of cuts that our mayor thinks are good ideas. He’s sourcing his ideas from Facebook, and most of these are bad. We already cut the size of council, with questionable results. This suggests cutting council again and direct councillors to take over staff responsibilities.
The list of things council is considering cutting in order to keep taxes “flat” is insane. (From Sam Austin’s website). Call your councillor and tell them you won’t support them if they support these cuts.
As a compromise, this game should be played at a neutral site in Europe. Preferably The Hague.
Conservatives pretending they enjoyed Kid Rock’s SB Halftime show.
Hey @canurbanism.bsky.social, can you comment on whether all of this is better city building?
Council trying to figure out why the costs of capital projects are spiralling out of control.
I guess putting an accountant named in the Panama Papers in charge of our province wasn’t good for our finances?
