If I had a time machine and William Dozier's home address, I absolutely would've bugged him forever to cast Don Adams as The Getaway Genius and Reginald Gardiner as The Cavalier in Batman '66.

If your eyes roll back into your head at people crying "communism!" at everything that's...well, not...(as if that were to ever happen...again), I really recommend David Hajdu's "The Ten-Cent Plague" about the great comic book scare of the McCarthy era.

Book featuring a boy in bed reading comic book magazines like "Weird" and "Crime" and "Horror." The boy and everything in his bedroom are black and white while the comics are in color.

Got these out of order on the thread, but here’s the lead comic story from Superman & Batman Magazine Issue 4. A Robin spotlight from Kelley Puckett and Mike Parobeck, the regular team on Batman Adventures at the time.

And the second story from Issue 5 of Superman & Batman Magazine is a Hawkman adventure - "A Declaration of Independence" by @paulkupperberg.bsky.social and Rick Burchett.

Two comic pages of Hawkman writing in a journal about the signing of the Declaration of Independence as a street gang intercepts a young kid on the sidewalk. The gang wants to know why the kid hasn't answered them about joining their gang.

The street gang give the kid a tough time and take him with them on a break-in. Hawkman, above, is about to intervene.

Hawkman foils their break-in attempt (which they were using the small kid for) and hands the street gang off to the police, while telling the kid he made the right choice by setting off the alarm.
