The physics of it are quite fascinating to observe... Didn't get a very interesting bit on video tho.
Hmm. At first I thought those were cut marks, but looks more like wear from hawsers? Maybe it is naval?
I'm assuming it's architectural rather than naval, tho it's not THAT long, so maybe not? Probably fairly old, but I couldn't rightly say... It's actually made it onto the beach so it will probably be here for a good while until there's a tide high enough to lift it.
There's a bloody great timber washing up on Rotherhithe beach (if it doesn't get dragged off with the tide) and I'm somewhat intrigued. How old is it, where did it come from and how did it end up as flotsam (or possibly but less likely I'd guess, jetsam)? @oldenoughtosay.com @garius.bsky.social
I also make soft boiled egg breakfast muffins with bacon, sausages, cheese and chives in the dough and... Oof. Those are something else.
The spire of St. Mary's Rotherhithe, resting place of the captain of the Mayflower, who had the good sense to come back.
Oh my. Has @funranium.bsky.social been blessed by this yet? Found on FB, attribution unknown. (Not picking up slop tells, hope I'm not wrong...)
That version would set you back well over £100 if I were to sell it at a sane rate for the work that goes into it. I am also doing printed ones including the commandment, but I don't have a shop front set up yet. Finding the time is difficult.
It was noticed quite a while ago. The logo for Claude, in particular, looks like Kurt Vonnegut's famous drawing of a literal asshole.
300 litres of beer in six kegs just manhandled up a flight of stairs...
All depends on the context. For the Butlerian Jihad one I chose the font that was used for the titles of the Dune books in the 80s. I used to be a graphic designer, so I do have a bit of a thing for typography. Don't get to do much these days, but I've been doing some pub chalkboards lately.
@mattdaviescartoon.bsky.social tells the tale of my father, his uncle, stripping & reassembling Matt's brand new mini motorbike and teaching Matt a lot in the process. Ben would have been 98 last week. I didn't make a deal out of it at the time because I didn't want to. Then this came up.
It was before I think! It was called Bar Lorca when those guys took it over. This was back 2004. I know the one with DJ Derek was September '04, the debut was July. He was the MOST chilled performer I've ever worked with. Absolute sweetheart. We did two in three months and only a fiver??? Madness!
I've had a few... But then again, not enough to fill a whole book! That's just ridiculous.
I had to make this with subs a long time ago. It still gets used...
Their reasoning was that this woman didn't have two ankles, but she does, it's just in shadow!
