I was responding to this post which in context seemed apt.

So this is the mess in my living room but it’s the only place to get to a window that opens and you have to get around the wall (and the dog crate). There are no windows that open in the other part of the room and I’m not spending money on a fitted mini-split for the 4 days I need it a year.

I feel like a proud parent. We took the boy to day care to see how he would cope with other dogs and he got a good report and played tug with his new friend. Good boy.

I’m not a fan but it’s basically a mass produced preserve. Not a lot in the to change. My better half made mince pies with a similarly aged jar once and I’m told it was delicious. But I’m taking her word for that :)

My dog lives a hard life.

I think the issue is people notice step changes and take awhile to adjust or react when one good changes a LOT. My wife likes imported chocolate. Imported chocolate is ~2x what it was 12-18 months ago. That change is not reflected in the CPI but it pisses me off if she asks me to get her some.

Amused me. I live in Old Money and Au Pairs. TBH it’s mostly new money and au pairs.
