Ultimately, though, this judicial officer’s mere difference of opinion is of no moment.
Courts lack the authority “to deny a prosecutor’s Rule 48(a) motion to dismiss charges based on a
disagreement with the prosecution’s exercise of its charging authority.” Fokker, 818 F.3d at 742.
This court does strongly disagree. But that alone is not a valid basis to deny the motion. The court
must give way to the primacy of the Executive Branch in making charging decisions. See id. at
741. And importantly, the court has no evidence before it to question whether prosecutors here have properly discharged their official duties. If it is their view that the public interest is served by surrendering convictions for crimes against the country to the gloss of an enduring public record, then that is an assessment to which this court must yield.

Some people's kids are unbelievably cool. ❤️

Pictured is my oldest son in his Air Fore ABU's standing next to his black Jaguar F-Type which is parked on an airfield. Behind this by perhaps 20 feet is an F-15 of which you can see the front 1/3rd of it.

I forget his exact AFSC title, but he fabricates parts which are used to maintain the fighters.

I am not worthy, but I will take it :)

Here's one for ya. The first time I bought a house was in '95. Then in 2000, then '05, then '22. Been with the same credit union since before the first house. Apparently only '22 counts. 😂. Also doesn't like that I have exactly one credit card (from the same credit union).

A friend asked about this so I am curious of the explanation. LA mayor race gets an update of almost 25,000 votes but one candidate got zero while the other three got votes. I don't know the mechanics of CA elections and I just assume there's a non-conspiracy answer. Anyone?

Two screenshots of 2026 LA Mayor election results, one showing 308878 total counted and the other showing 333712 total counted. Four candidates are listed and three of the four had their counts increase but a fourth - Spencer Pratt - got 0 votes out of a batch of 24,834.

A friend of mind thinks that's statistically impossible, I think there's a valid explanation but have no clue what it might be since I don't know the mechanics of CA election tabulation.
