Drawing of a plague marine I did when I was sick a couple of weeks ago. I call him Sloptimus Grime. He was a Novamarine but he didn't wash his power-armor enough. Eventually the smell got so bad they vented him out of an airlock. These days he's really into slime. #Warhammer40k #40k #nurgle #art
A recent discovery I've made is that my brain works faster on paper than digitally. I think it's because working digitally locks me into editing the same image over and over instead of iterating. Whereas on paper I just make a mark and move on.
Learning a new program. Need to do a thing. Not working. Google "program thing not working" "Just convert thing to thing and then do thing" Converts thing to thing and then does thing. Not working. Google "program thing still not working" "You forgot to toggle thing" Check. Thing is already toggled.
Wabbit Wedding Quick digital watercolour experiment for my wip children's book. #davidaugart
Went back to the drawing board. I'm not sure the "studio" was necessary, so I dropped it. I think it's a big improvement on the last logo, but I'm still not sure I've completely nailed it. Especially the font. Maybe I should just use my handwriting for the whole thing?
It has the most boring main character I've ever seen in my life but also lets you throw around a spinny disk of death and control it in midair to change direction and decapitate enemies and solve puzzles. It does the "Krull (1983)" thing where it calls a shuriken/chakram-
Tbh the only thing I know about Guyver is what he looks like because I saw a picture of him in my country's first (and possibly only) anime magazine 20 years ago. darkSector is... weird. It's somehow like a weird prequel/spiritual successor to Warframe?
First post from my new studio! The dream is to have my own place, but for now I'm setting up in the unused half of my mom's home office. Still a wip, but having a set workspace instead of constantly moving 300 sketchbooks around the house feels incredible. My mom took the photo (she's very proud).
Been working on my personal branding, along with a bunch of other stuff. It's been a hot minute since I've done any graphic design work, but this is the current logo I'm considering. Thoughts? I focused on making something scalable, but I'm worried it's too boring. Also unsure about the font.
Read MCMLXXV Glad I did. It feels like the exact type of crazy mash-up of ideas I want my current wip to be. I also like the scope of the story. Makes me rethink how much of a story's "big-picture" problem needs to be "solved" by the end in order to still be satisfying.
"Two Scrungaloid foragers fight to the death over a firearm. Their packmate, holding two, observes." I have not been able to stop thinking about @opensketchbook.bsky.social 's Scrungaloids since I first saw them. I also cannot stop compulsively saying the word "Scrungaloid" and giggling to myself.
Vulture Priests form an integral part of the Martian ecosystem. Scavenger cultists use data supplied by Exterminators and Hunters Guilds to coordinate corpse collection. These are offered in tribute to their Holy Leviathans, leading the ravenous giants as well as other demons away from settlements.
Forgot to post these. Left my character Bernie on the "create your character" wall at Comic-con. If everything goes according to plan you might see a bit more of her by the end of the year.
Becomes ruler of Arrakis by putting up a bunch of these things and solving the worm problem.
Yay! It's May! >:3 Still a WIP. The light on the anchor needs work and I still need to do her backpack. #guiltygear
Red from Bomb Rush Cyberfunk. Trying to plan less and do more. Not quite done yet, but I'm posting it for now to try and keep myself motivated. Feels good to work on paper again.
