Not all Gen X!!! But white Gen X is overall not doing so great ideologically.
Like, I could sit here all day and drop examples of modern Trek where duty and service to the federation and a larger cause is a constant cornerstone, where characters talk about and act on this commitment.
Impeachment worked so well that Trump is president again, and Robinhood is a great idea but it has not actually passed, whereas Lander actually has victories he can point to.
His position on crypto is very well documented. That was from Politico, this is from The Guardian.
In my neighborhood Mamdani / Lander got a combined 80% in mayoral RCV. Goldman took a look at these numbers, saw he was already losing his seat to a generic “any other Democrat” and decided not to endorse Mamdani for mayor. When it comes to the “issue of antisemitism” he’s aligned with Trump 🤮
Meanwhile Goldman has already actively voted with Republicans to rollback Biden era regulations on cryptocurrency and on bills that made it easier for Trump to evade taxes and scam people 🤡
I provided the link to the article, it was posted on July 8th, 2026. According to the Daily News article the first of the five new rapid bus corridors will be completed in 2030, four are still in planning.
Goldman doesn’t need me to defame him, he does that all on his own. He has a reputation here for ignoring his constituents that he earned all on his own. He didn’t have a negative approval rating because I complained about his stance on cryptocurrency on Bluesky.
Linden Boulevard is also one of the most dangerous corridors for pedestrians and residents have been fighting for years to make it safer and expand access to public transportation in the area because it would reduce dependence on cars (ie actually reduce traffic overall)
This is not even to mention how the bus corridors also significantly reduce pedestrian injuries. You know what really backs up traffic in Manhattan and delays your friend? Waiting for an ambulance responding to a car hitting a person crossing the street.
Also early in the primary Lander explicitly was “pulling his punches” against Goldman because there was a redistricting in legal limbo that would have put Goldman in the NY11 and he didn’t want to hurt the chances of flipping that seat.
Quite frankly Colleen when it comes to Goldman you are using socialists as a scapegoat instead of just acknowledging the fact that his constituents (like me) wanted someone else. He barely won his first primary in 2022 and we’ve wanted someone more progressive ever since. Get your facts straight.
(1) Goldman lost to Lander, Lander is not a socialist (2) Goldman was deeply unpopular here, polling last September had him losing to “another Democrat” (3) He was unpopular because aside from looking good on cable news he was not a good representative for our district, eg on crypto he voted with Rs
Like, all of us out here have to clean up after Anthony goes and spouts bad faith nonsense with the intention of swaying people who aren’t super aware of the details, he’s intentionally targeting people who have absolutely no good reason to be following the exact position of someone not their rep.
Not even his first time being arrested. Also he’s got a pretty long record of fighting for workers and renters rights from his time on the city council. His legislation has actually improved the lives of working class people in NYC and it is great if he can help bring these to the federal level.
Reminder that many mainstream Democrats have basically the same position when it comes to the ICC, they’d just rather not say it out loud.
My take: Hardcore Zionist voters could have met the more liberal Zionist Jewish voters in the middle and backed Brad Lander for mayor, but instead they backed Cuomo and explicitly completely left Lander off their ranked choice ballots entirely because he had the audacity to cross endorse Mamdani.
Not sure how long it has been since you lived here but we have ranked choice voting now. People could have ranked more “normie” options as their first or second choice with Mamdani as a back up. Endorsement from organizations looked like this, a roster of candidates to rank, as you’d prefer them.
Same, and even in that regard, Lander at least admits that there is more he could have done to speak out about the genocide in Gaza, whereas Goldman gave a standing ovation to Netanyahu and voted with Republicans to sanction the ICC for going after Israeli leadership.
You slandering Mahmoud with that nonsense really speaks volumes. Like, you can disagree with him on Israel and Palestine, but saying he deserved to be abducted by the Gestapo really does tell me who you are aligned and eager to work with, thanks.
First off he was not antisemitic, and even if he was he deserved due process. He was abducted by masked agents in front of his pregnant wife and shipped across state lines, and Goldman was okay with it. Meanwhile guess who two weeks earlier said he was “aligned” with Trump on antisemitism? Yep.
I was not pushing that as a scandal, only to say that he’d be better suited to represent Long Island, where he owns multiple properties already. Just like the amount of debt he has in mortgages isn’t a scandal, just reinforces that he’s out of touch with the needs of working class Americans.
Schumer 2.0 would be awful. That dude has been my representative in one way or another nearly my entire life and I do not want 40 more years of that spineless loser. Those guys should move to Long Island.
Dan Goldman lost his seat because he voted with Republicans on crypto bills that helped Trump evade taxes, voted for spying on Americans, and was generally known in our district for ignoring his constituents.
Charlotte you are literally doing this meme right now. Sometimes incremental change is what we get, and it helps us build momentum for larger causes.
It looks like @repdangoldman.bsky.social is still posting on X, the Nazi app, but I guess he fired the intern that was handling the Bluesky accounts because those have not been updated since he lost the primary.
I’m certainly going to have my complaints about him but the way this statement from Brad Lander is like 10000x better than the divisive garbage we got from Dan Goldman for 4 years is really making me happy about this primary win. This represents our district.
