Similarly loving today’s 31 after two weeks of 36 to 38. It’s not going to last, though.
It’s interesting to compare the current heatwaves in London and here in Madrid. In Madrid, we’ve had six weeks of temperatures consistently a few degrees above average, gradually rising to approach 40 degrees. In London, you’ve had three really dramatic spikes way above your normal, reaching 35.
It’s a good day for puzzles for me. I got parseword in 17 seconds, crossclimb in 37, three under par on one minute cryptic, Wordle in three, and a perfect connections (plus a badge for 500 perfect puzzles).
I’ve seen a lot of good advice on how to survive the heat wave, but here’s one I haven’t seen mentioned yet. Rest your bare feet on a freezer block while you’re working. As long as your feet are cool, the rest of you feels cool.
