For each issue of Final Gravity, we select a non-profit working in or around the beer and hospitality industries to support financially. This issue’s beneficiary is San Diego Brewcycling Collaborative helps breweries divert waste from landfills through creative recycling & reuse initiatives.

When it comes time to ship, we set aside an evening, put on some movies, and write short personal notes for every single recipient. No idea how long we’ll be able to do that—we’d love to have enough readers that becomes impractical, but we would miss it. Then everything gets weighed and stamped.

Oh, and this? This is a long-arm stapler. It is a zinester’s best friend. In fact, there’s a zine podcast called Long Arm Stapler. We’ve always thought it would make a good band name.

Once we have pages printed, we assemble, fold, and staple each copy by hand. We get surprisingly few papercuts doing this. Then everything gets stacked, waiting for the week we package everything for shipping. In the meantime, we address our envelopes and boxes.
