Another non-fiction book completed. Learned a lot about Will Eisner. This book has the flaw that it may cause readers to buy more books. Namely Will Eisner graphic novels and Spirit collections.

The strange things that pop back into your head when chatting with a friend you’ve known for 40 years. I remember the A-Team novels were actually pretty good. Can’t recall exactly when I read them but this is the only title that I definitely recall reading.

I’m a huge Dylan fan so I decided to pick this up. The book is all about the interactions between Dylan and The Beatles as well as how they influenced each other. An excellent read.

Watched this with @rudigerhonsbein.bsky.social as we went down a David Hockney rabbit hole. More on the reasons for that soon hopefully.

Taking a break from books for a few days. Have been listening to some Doctor Who Short Trips. A few of them, like the one pictured, are ones that won the Paul Spragg Memorial Short Trip Opportunity competition.

Yeah. Alan Moore's Writing for Comics has some little creative gems in it.

Don't usually pick up single issues or one-shots in print but I went to my LCS to grab this one (and this particular cover). I really enjoyed it too.

Archie Meets The Punisher / The Punisher Meets Archie should not have worked but it was excellent.

Excellent book on a part of queer history I did not know much about. Some touching personal stories. Highly recommended. Kudos to @ajwestauthor.bsky.social

Liked the connection this was making to E.M. Forster and the angle it took. Bit disappointed with the ending.

If you’re around my age, you say a bit of this wrestling on TV on Saturdays. Great to learn a bit more about it. I ended up liking Giant Haystacks more.

Afternoons In Utopia (1986) turns 40 today. Tricky to follow their first album but Alphaville managed it. Still grateful to @mikeowencarroll.bsky.social for introducing me to their music. Paraphrasing Stephen Fry on ABBA: It’s pop music that’s a little bit better than it needs to be.

Another 2026 book! TJ Klune is a couple listen. We both enjoyed this one. Got emotional. Klune gets me every time.

Went for a non-fiction. Angry. Angry composer. Interesting lectures on Beethoven’s life and motivations. Might go for the author’s lectures on musical pieces in the future.

Really enjoyed this one. Another philosophical heavy one so I think I need to move to a plot driven one next time. Or maybe non-fiction.

DC / Marvel have made their crossover hugely confusing and a pain for comic shops. These are two different comics. Not confusing.

Just discovered my nephew has a My Little Pony school bag. Love how his parents just let him have what he likes.
