Finally closed an unfinished chapter of my childhood. Quite appropriate, because the game itself feels quite unfinished! I still loved it, it was short and sweet and didn't have a whole lot of different situations to it, but the vibes, the world, the personality... Wish it got the 2008 sequel
At first it might seem like one of those "check a few things and let the right one in" that spawned in the dozens in recent years taking notes from Papers Please, but instead of being built for infinite repetition, it has designed and curated characters for each interaction, with all unique dialogue
I'm blown away by the variety and puzzles of Lil' Guardsman, even if the writing is at times a bit hit or miss, thoroughly enjoying it every time I make time for it. Long but not stretched too.

So... this is NOT Dragon Master. I feel cheated. It seems like it was a Korean-developed RPG that Cybergold just distributed in whatever way they felt like... Sadly it doesn't install on Windows 11. Now that I know what game it is tho, gameplay of it seems miserable. I'll try to make it work.
