Today marks one year since I decided to learn how to draw! I haven't taken an art class since middle school and had no idea where to start. I just went with whatever exercises I could find: this upside-down Picasso, grid drawings from photos...

#9: SteamWorld Quest. Another SteamWorld banger! In contention for my fave even?? There's some great character work and strategic party planning hiding under the surface of this funny robot game.

#8: Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. Pretty standard FE gameplay, but the writing is upper tier. Ike is a great protagonist, and FE is always better when it has to reckon with class. I don't love that accepting lordship was how he promoted, though.

Text from Wikipedia reads, "Throughout the summer of 1979, members of New York City's gay community protested the film's production. Protests started at the urging of journalist Arthur Bell, whose series of articles on unsolved murders of gay men inspired the film.[3] Gay people were urged to disrupt filming, and gay-owned businesses to bar the filmmakers from their premises. People attempted to interfere with shooting by pointing mirrors from rooftops to ruin lighting for scenes, blasting whistles and air horns near locations, and playing loud music. One thousand protesters marched through the East Village demanding that the city withdraw support for the film.[19] As a result of interference, the movie's audio often had to be overdubbed to remove the noise caused by off-camera protesters.[20]"

#4: Picross S4. Is it me or did they ramp up the difficulty for this one? Some of those 15x15 mega puzzles were real stumpers!

I found a How to Draw Birds book in my partner's mom's basement and have been using it for practice. It's honestly terrible for a beginner: too few steps, and very inconsistent between them. That said, here are some of my best birds.
