@davisqueue
I mostly post about music or bother my friends. Play in long time duo Grand Banks and solo as Dais Queue. New band is Radon Abatement, which is a rock band. Grand Banks: Dais Queue:
Flyer for the upcoming Radon Abatement tape release show is here. Excellently risographed by our own @joshkrahn.bsky.social. Added Dimensions rule & will play as will local heavies Ear Infection (some of the best musicians in town) including @gorgonparis.bsky.social. Will be a good one!
Some nice footage of Soliton from last night. Always enjoy seeing @abstracttruth.bsky.social & @walter-wright.bsky.social on their thing, this time with Kittie Cooper & Neda Nadim joining in. A good night all around.
Looks like the Radon Abatement tape release show will be on Friday, July 31, at Visible Records in Charlottesville, Virginia. Added Dimensions will also play and maybe more some more action as well, we will see. Excited about the show, excited about the tapes being out there in the world.
Next show at Visible Records in Charlottesville is coming up in a couple of weeks, and here is the flyer! Excited about this one, should be a very cool night I think.
Radon Anatement tapes are mostly done but we have another batch to finish off. Likely shipping out in a couple of weeks or so. Been quite a bit of work as we did all the artwork ourselves, but also more fun than doing it some other way. Pretty damn pleased with them.
For those not on Instagram you can see those tour dates here. Flyer made by Added Dimensions head honcho herself @sarahwhateverton.bsky.social. Gonna be in four piece form on this tour, which is a great reason to catch them live if you are in or around these cities:
It's pretty interesting to me just how varied the comparisons to other bands we get for Radon Abatement are. They're usually quite flattering. We're of course not as good as a lot of the bands people are suggest we remind them of a bit, but it's cool to see where people land.
Erin and I finally got our tape cases up. Look forward to sticking a Radon Abatement tape in there when we finish them off (which should be soon I hope). I understand when people say “tapes? really?” but yeah, tapes. Cute little buddies that may or may not contain some great music.
Another show coming up at Visible Records! Choppers Choice is the new band of Colin Langenus (USAisaMonster etc.!) & Matthew Clark (Ostinato, tons of stuff) w/ a many armed crew of weirdo sound makers joining in. Only their second ever show! Plus VA underground legends Buck Gooter & DQE guitar spew.
This show is coming up in a few weeks or so! This will be a really cool evening, different configurations of folks improvising throughout in a very nice room to see this kind of thing. If you are in or around Charlottesville come on out! It will be a good time.
Hey @radonabatement.bsky.social got asked to play a show in Richmond, so we are gonna. Excited to play to some strangers and out of town friends. Good bill, no band the same but all good at what they do. Though I can’t be the judge for us I guess. Someone come tell us what we sound like please.
Never sure what this day will bring, and usually am ok with it being low key. Today’s was spent happily enough working on final Radon Abatement mixes (or close enough) with my partner and two of my best friends. Many days are hard these days, but this one has been good. Hoping for more for us all.
Flyer for the Sensor Ghost, Clenchers, and Radon Abatement show on March 14. It will be a good one. Don't make Nancy more mad than she is and just go, ok?
An event happening tonight (2/6) in Charlottesville is this @teenbeat.bsky.social art/design show opening at Infinite Repeats! This should be very cool as of course Teenbeat Records has always had a singular and cool design bent to go along with the music. Should be a good time with good folks.
Excellent show coming up this Saturday at Infinite Repeats in Charlottesville! Two members of Flin Flon are playing, which is exciting on its own, but of course Mark Robinson is known for much more than that (Unrest and Teenbeat Records for a couple). It will be an excellent night all around!
Show coming up at Infinite Repeats in a week: @averysafecat.bsky.social & I (Grand Banks) will play in trio form w/ the excellent @gorgonparis.bsky.social. Also excited to share a bill w/ @abstracttruth.bsky.social's Day For Night crew. Happy to see the singular & cool band The Caribbean again also.
Excited to play a show tomorrow night. The third Radon Abatement show of the year. We've been working on stuff around the shows, hopefully we'll be able to share it not too far down the line. If you're around Charlottesville head on out. True Love Always & Added Dimensions are playing, which rules.
Excellent flyer courtesy of @joshkrahn.bsky.social is ready so that means I am gonna post about this show: True Love Always comes through for the first time in 20 years or so on Sat., Nov. 22! The killer Added Dimensions is also playing along with Radon Abatement. I am very excited about this.
By the way I was the second Paw Paw Paw Paw, and played in that capacity during this set. Colin Langenus of USAisaMonster & countless other bands was the first & CK Numbskull is the third and current Paw Paw Paw Paw. This is what that looks like, and what I looked like playing this music:
Cherry is a sweet sweet dog and a good companion. All the couches she wishes for will be hers, though she has never gone without this trust one right here. She is the best.
If you are in or near Philly on Oct. 4 you, too, could see this at U4 Fest. Added Dimensions will go on some time, not even sure when, but plenty of other good bands playing as well (partial to Marbled Eye & Artificial Go in particular). A pretty good way to spend a Saturday. E S G ...
Here is the flyer for the Joseph Allred+Raven Bauer Durham+Carry show at Visible Records on 7/13. This will be a great line-up for those looking to commune in a low key setting. The music will at times be quite beautiful, thematically heavy, deeply felt, & sonically rich. It will be a good night.
Here is the killer flyer for this MANAS trio w/ Che Chen show coming up June 5. They should be very good, as Tashi Dorji & Thom Nguyen are sick musicians, as is Che Chen (fans of 75 Dollar Bill & his solo etc. stuff know this). Trotting out the DQE for this as well, first time in a while. Good shit.
Next show at Visible Records is coming up fast! Self-made synth & light-show jammers MSHR are coming through on tour and are joined by Second Dinner, which is a local crew headed up by Colin Langenus (USAisaMonster!) & Matthew Clark (Ostinato!). Elka Bong rules also (hey @walter-wright.bsky.social).
Next @radonabatement.bsky.social show coming up at the end of the month. Playing with local instrumental zoners Performance Review (feat. Matt Datesman of Flin Flon/True Love Always!) & two bands from Richmond, Chest Hair & Logo Scars. Chest Hair sounds like synth-side of Trans Am, which is fun shit
Next @radonabatement.bsky.social show set up at Infinite Repeats on Fri., April 18. Other bands are Bruise Bath, a slow burn rock band based outta Philly featuring former man about town Zak Krone (from the excellent old band Left & Right), and free-jazz noise boys Space-Saver. Will be very good.
