Scored a copy of Magic Labyrinth in the charity shop for 20kr. After a couple of games it seems like a fun kids game with a good gimmick.
#NorthArrowsReviewed This one is now a table in the Lismore in Glasgow. As a directional indicator I feel it should be differentiated a bit better- maybe segmented or with some linework? 5/10. As a table 3/10. The surface is too small and bumpy.
Is it steatite? Do I see the hint of an opposed hole on the left edge? Looks almost like a broken hanging lamp like the ones from Jarlshof

This works rather nicely and has a lot of potential. Here's a comparison of different methods of detecting fluorescence. Explanation in the alt text. Hopefully we can continue developing this system and get enough comparative data to couple what we see from the sensor with soil properties. /end
Here is sensitivity of the sensor plotted against the emission spectra of the LEDs. If we exclude the ambient light and use only one LED the response from the sensor should be a very narrow range of "colours".
The Bayer filter divides the light hitting the sensor into red green and blue sensitive pixels, mimicking trichromatic human vision and how we see colour. If we look at the plot below we can see that at any given wavelength the ratio of RGB values is somewhat unique.
We can use fluorescence to detect all kinds of things. Police and forensics bods routinely use it to find evidence like blood and other icky fluids. It also works with bone. Here is some bone fluorescing away in a profile (see the alt text for explanation)

When you say fjord folk think of big mountains falling away to abyssal depths, but here it's a bit more estuarine and the boundaries between the land and sky and sea is a bit more gradual.
