I have two events this weekend. These scenes are for the Oakdale morning market on Saturday. Its my first artist residency as Stockton doesn't do anything like that yet. Sunday I'll be back at the Fox Theater for a pop-up gallery display there.

Anyways I think I will leave it there for now. Its morning here, I have a vaquero saddle to ink up, and a rabbit to entertain.

Yesterday was a black dog day on my end so I made an octopus stamp. Then I upcycled some iron-on patches because I had all the parts. Octopus scenes tend to be good tests for new-to-me mediums because of the variety of shapes needed to do them properly. #SciArt

The life scene on this book's cover is my very first commission cover for a client. I also did a few interior scenes. This title will release in August.

Woodchipper is built. Its still too early to test it out. I made little signs for the vending machine as I have an event on Sunday.

Looks like the Valley heat is here in force today. Its supposed to be 103 or so [40 for my Celsius using friends]. Indoor activities it is. I have a grant application to work on, job applications to work on, and art to prep for upcoming events. The machine is full of Historic Stockton pins now.

Anyways, I have a new to me set of gumball machines for the local tables I vend my art at. Now I need to figure out some gumball sized prizes that are related to my archaeological/ historic coloring books. I am open to suggestions #SkyStorians #MedievalSky

There is still time for a couple of historic scene recreations and process diagrams as well. I would say 3-5 if its just black and white. 3 if every one wanted color. Line work only is on sale for $150 USD, color is $175. Its been a very lean subbing year. But I create better than decent art.

Its graduation season. I graduated in absentia more than a decade now but I never got the chance to wear the claret and blue robes. I'll never be able to afford them now that I am back in California. When I was supposed to walk I didn't even watch the webcast- most of my cohort had graduated prior.

Its a weekday which means I'm on call for subbing. Its down to the last couple of weeks of hands down the worst year in this work since I began in 2015. Its depressing so here is a photo of my opinionated rabbit looking out the window.

Good morning friends and neighbors! I had a poke through my hard drive and found the scan of the fishing for the world serpent scene I did before it sold. There is a lot of metallic highlights around this one that didn't scan well.

Some of last weeks glasses test at Big Trees State Park. Normally I use these when I ride around town on my bike since I don't have a go-pro. It was raining during much of the full walk and I was a bit concerned about getting a drop smack on it though.

Sometimes I also do motifs that end up in nontraditional places. This one ended up on an acoustic bass guitar that helped refinish.

This one might be a process shot of Igaliku in Greenland. I'll have to check the physical painting. Greenland is tied up in the root of the entire reason why I did North Atlantic identity in graduate school.

The color version of this poster was included in the 2022 movie Bros. The motif here was included in a coloring book I made about Eleanor with Gabrielle Bychowski that is available on my website. Fun fact aside from the awesome scenes of Eleanor and a few of her people it has a whole map of London.

This one is from the original Kickstarter campaign for the Viking Coloring Book. This one and a scene I did of fishing for the Midgard Serpent are hands down the two best underwater scenes I've done to date. This one is still available, but the other scene went to a private collector in 2019.

This was an initial stage motif I ended up painting. I generally don't do that unless the client requests it. The line work that will be published is a bit different- a bigger hump. This one goes with my earlier Sogolon Conde scene I did for the Women of the Middle Ages series 1 for my own archive.

I am trying to make a writing deadline. Focused, typing, biscuits next to me, all of it. Some bunny is being a jerk and has thumping directly under my chair exactly 3 minutes after I get to work everything I get to work for the past hour. Bunny tax included.

I made a giant scratcher ticket for my booth next weekend as a break from line work. I might still put some lettering around the edge, I haven't decided yet.
