Film #245: Event Horizon I want to see the version we will never see that wasn't butchered by the studio. It's super vibes and the vibes are all rotten and that's what makes it work. The version we got is great but the most maddening is knowing it could be better. #2026Films

Film #244: Vampyr It's an incredibly vibes based film. A lot of it is a guy wanders around and encounters creepy shit. And yeah, the visuals are more than a little creepy. There isn't a ton of story there but the film overall in entertaining. #2026Films

Film #243: Pizza Movie Mostly funny. The film isn't 100% consistent in its rules but it's fun enough. It also gets marks because, once we see the pizza, it looks like actually good pizza. #2026Films

One of my favorite Scooby Doo Series full of Capital C Choices. Like including a character who is literally in all of two episodes who randomly looks like Gwen Stacy.

Film #242: Gerald's Game It's a difficult film to watch at times but helped by an absolutely phenomenal performance by Carla Gugino! Honestly, kudos on adapting a novel I have long thought to be thoroughly unadaptable! #2026Films

Film #241: Maximum Overdrive Just an absurdly stupid film that's just the right level of fun that it works. You can tell that Stephen King was high off his ass making this thing because it's almost nonsensical at times but whatever. #2026Films King Films: 14/50

Film #240: The Sheep Detectives It's a charming little cozy mystery. It's also at least somewhat solvable. Voice acting is good, human actors are fun. Honestly feels like the kind of film you can just throw on and watch on a rainy afternoon. #2026Films

Film #238: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie It's not a great film but, y'know, it just hits the right nostalgic feels that I don't care. Look, it's Power Rangers. You aren't here for good performances, great special effects, or whatever else. It's fine to good. #2026Films

Paul Freeman as Ivan Ooze is a delight. Just the right level of menace and camp. The way he says, "The Brady Bunch Reunion" is wonderful. That said, I wonder if he means The Brady Brides or the Brady Bunch Variety Hour...

Film #237: Inception I am just always stunned everytime I watch it. From the use of practical and special effects to the score to the acting, it's just tour de force cinema! #2026Films

There's just something about the raw beauty and charisma of Tom Hardy in Inception that earned my attraction the first time and ensured that crush survives to this day. Helps that his character, Eames, is written and acted as being very queer cosed.

Film #236: Kingsman: The Secret Service A lot of style, some very fun set pieces (The church scene is perfect), but it doesn't always work. Still, for all the salughter at the end, there is a certain element of the ending that I kinda find optimistic in a way. #2026Films

Film #235: Captain America: The Winter Soldier Still probably one of Marvel's better showings. Helps that it has a fair bit of style while also feeling like its own film and not just another piece off the production line. Marvel just does good elevator fights. #2026Films

Film #234: Veronica Mars As a continuation of the series, it has just enough connective tissue without being total fan service. The mystery is pretty good and well setup. Kinda wish it didn't end with a further adventures set-up but mostly good. Could have done without the Franco cameo. #2026Films

Film #233: Eddie and the Cruisers It makes sense, as the 50s nostalgia wave died down, that we'd get a film critical of how the era treated it's bands. Honestly, some great performances and Michael Pare is fucking hot. Helps that the songs are pretty damn catchy also. #2026Films

Film #232: Gidget Cute if inoffensive film. It has a few moments where it almost seems to achieve something resembling consciousness before it immediately just goes back to, "Look at me, I'm Sandra Dee." Honestly, Sandra Dee might be what keeps the film from being a total snooze. #2026Films

Film #231: Do I Sound Gay? I went in expecting one thing (maybe a look at gay voice, the cultural look and roots of it) and kinda got that but then it was also really more about the documentations relationship with his own and not sure if that added to or detracted from it. #2026Films

Film #230: The Watermelon Woman Absolutely fascinating film. An alternate history that also represents the truth of Black Lesbians in both the 20th century and today. Dunye does a wonderful job directing and acting. #2026Films

Forever Red is surprising because most of them have the same hair. I mean, except for whatever the frick Jason David Frank did to his do.

Film #229: Splendor It's vaguely telling that even when Greg Arakki does a "straight" film, it's still kinda queer. Not a complain because most straight people wouldn't do a film where becoming a throuple is the correct answer. The film itself is okay. #2026Films
