This is Canada's Boreal Forest cover. Americans have been telling us to "manage" our forests. Much of the northern part is inaccessible, uninhabited, wilderness. No roads, no air strips. Please use the critical thinking skills you hopefully have, and make a determination that helps you understand that rakes won't cut it. Fighting these fires is impossibly hard, and heartbreaking for our country. This isn't mismanagement on our part, it is not possible to prevent fires in this vast region.

My immediate thought yesterday when I woke up to a hazardous purple 378 AQI wildfire smoke forecast I’d never seen in Toronto, then looked out the window and the yellow orange sky was now white, was how many people were going to spend time outdoors thinking it was safer when it was actually worse. 😓

The ticks make it so you can’t eat meat, the parasites make it so you can’t eat fruits and veggies, and the bloodsucking grocery profiteers make it so you can’t eat any food at all.

This WAS Councillor Brad Bradford in 2019. Flip flopping now because he knows he’ll get more votes running for mayor by pandering to car-brained folks who don’t realize more bike lanes EASE congestion for them. I know this is not a solution to your problem but it made me think of this amazing sweater I saw on ‘Survival of the Thickest’ and I want to find a way to do this with 2 sweaters in need of repair. 💖

I won’t spoil it for you but in addition to 18 fun, colourful sculptures set among the blooming gardens, there are a few augmented reality characters to discover too so make sure your phone is fully charged to find them with QR codes. There’s short audio by the artist talking about each piece, too!

Found these floor decals outside a Staples store the other day. I’m sure the scene was bumpin’ as folks waited in line outside for their turn to outfit their home office in 2020 & ‘21. I’m also sure those new desks, chairs and filing cabinets are now collecting dust as they rushed back to work ASAP.

My favourite view of the CN Tower is anywhere north of midtown where it’s pretty much visible thru any clearing. I love seeing it when I round the entrance ramp to the 401 East from near Yorkdale. I even loved being surprised to see it so far away from Hwy 7 in Markham yesterday. Our South Star ⭐️
