The various towns around Lake Garda in Italy use small metal disc markers to indicate the boundary up to which commercial businesses can place various items of furniture onto the public street.

The various towns around Lake Garda in Italy have various forms of signage on their drainage gullies - typically conveying a message along the lines of "the lake starts with this gulley, don't pollute into it".

As @bleeperactive.bsky.social roll out BikeBunkers on behalf of @dubcitycouncil.bsky.social, they map their locations and status. 52 of the 56 #BikeBunkers are full, with spaces in the remaining 4. More info at www.bikebunkers.ie "Live for your bike, not with it."

Zara and Dave from the City Council's Joinery Workshop making a prototype for an upcoming #PlayStreetsBETA trial. It's a planter box, which also incorporates a swing gate. The idea is to use these to 'bookend' an onstreet play space, with the gates closing across the roadway during certain times.

As @bleeperactive.bsky.social add new BikeBunkers to the service, they display the location of each one on a map which you can view on bikebunkers.ie The map shows Dublin's four local authorities and that there are now 55 BikeBunkers on the streets within @dubcitycouncil.bsky.social's area.

Dublin City Council's new #BikeBunker service arose from a €4,500 BETA Project. The first BikeBunker of the new service has now been installed, with an initial target of 1,800 BikeBunker spaces. More info at www.bikebunkers.ie or from @bleeperactive.bsky.social Live for your bike, not with it.

There's some additional info in the alt text. They're where people had applied for spaces within a BikeBunker - light blue looking for 1 space, dark blue 2 spaces (which was the cap). Mapping expressions of interest in a trial is useful to give a sense of scalability and types of areas interested.

Hi Oisín, one option could be to let people themselves decide. Even with side passages, they may have reasons to want them. Then install based on demand.

Dublin today held 25 play streets, opening up those streets to local children and their parents for 3 hours (to mark 25 years of #CarFreeDay). Managing to visit 11 of the 25 within the 3 hours, it was useful to see how each space was used and gather various learnings for upcoming #PlayStreetsBETA.

The 1st planning application was submitted by @thewallsproject.bsky.social for #StreetArtBETA. It's a regular planning application with site notice, open to public observations, etc. planning.agileapplications.ie/dublincity/a... However it's for the 'blank canvas', not any particular art content.

Today we removed the hangar within which the two @bleeperactive.bsky.social cargo bikes for #CargobikeSharingBETA were based. We will now iterate on this trial, switching to an onstreet approach, with the cargobikes locked to (low) bike stands at this same location - to learn about that approach.
