Started Brigands and Breadknives by Travis Baldree. My July reading list is already ending up gayer than June, lol 💙📚 🌈

And finally, the last book I read on June and the best book I read in June: The Last Best Quest Ever by @ftlukens.bsky.social It is the only queer book I read in June (I AM ASHAMED). It's just a good time. Lighthearted and fun, but still emotional with a great world and good characters. 💙📚🌈

Next, Emily Wilde's Compendium of Lost Tales by Heather Fawcett. This was my least favorite of the 3. Up until the end, everything was happening near Emily and it all felt unmoored and distant. I didn't dislike it enough to not read the next book, though. 💙📚

NOVEL: Everyone should read To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee at least 3 times - the first time bc you should, the second to catch anything you missed, and the third to really enjoy the craft of storytelling. This is my second reading of it, so at least 1 more to go. 💙📚

Lore Olympus: Volume Ten by Rachel Smythe. This one was good, if a bit confusing. It's setting up a lot for the last 2(?) volumes. I got confused on who some of the characters were. 💙📚

GRAPHIC NOVELS: Timo the Adventurer was great. It's about making your own path and asking when you need help, never giving up and friendship. All great things all camouflaged as a kid's book, but you adults should read it too. 💙📚

MANGA: In the Name of the Mermaid Princess, Vol. 7. This is a great conclusion to the series. I was worried that it would be corny, but it was emotional and believable. That's sometimes hard to find in such a short manga. 💙📚

Children's Book: Winnie-The-Pooh by A.A. Milne. I mean, it's Winnie-The-Pooh... of course it was great. I read it for a classics book club at my library. 💙📚

And last: K: A History of Baseball in Ten Pitches by Tyler Kepner. It's about baseball. Of course, I loved it. I learned a lot about different pitches and may be able to say more than "it swooshes" when someone asks what a slider is. 💙📚 ⚾️🧢

4th: When the Earth Was Green: Plants, Animals, and Evolution's Greatest Romance by Riley Black. I did not like this. I don't usually put my storygraph review on here, but this one deserves it. 💙📚

Third: The Underworld: Journeys to the Depths of the Ocean by Susan Casey. This was fascinating to me. I am terrified of water but love seeing all the cool creatures in the ocean. I knew it cost a lot to do dives, but not that much. Very informative! 💙📚 🐙🐙

Next: We Carry Kevan by Kevan Chandler. I started reading this for the friend and the adventure. I almost dnf'd it because of the religion. Don't read this if you don't want to be preached at. I'm not sure how you can compare and equate jesus to peter pan, but her we are. 💙📚

5 NONFICTION BOOKS: the first one: A Woman of No Importance: The Untold Story of the American Spy Who Helped Win World War II by Sonia Purnell. I'm not a huge fan of war books. But I read this bc I didn't know who Virginia Hall was. Women are erased in history. We should read more about them. 💙📚

Currently listening to The Lives of Bees by Thomas D Seeley. Felt compelled after playing the Honey Buzz board game. 📚💙 📚🎧

I was going to do my june reading wrapup but i got a new game. Anyone play Honey Buzz? I did a mock game to learn. The best way to keep critters from stealing your honey is to sell it at the market! You play as a worker. You have to make the most money for the queen. The pieces are called beeples! 🎲

Now reading The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi by Shannon Chakraborty. "...to be a woman is to have your story misremembered. Discarded. Twisted." Yeah, I think I'm going to like this one. 💙📚
