Deb the Hermit

You’re “friendly” neighborhood hermit. Dog lover, mom, and political junkie. I love photos of nature. I just never get out in it to take them anymore. 😢 I am prone to typos as I have a disorder called Essential Tremor. I’m a big mess!
My poor old boy has serious arthritis in his right paw. He’s been acting off for a few days, off his feed, won’t jump off the chair he loves to sleep on, trembling. The vet thinks it will settle down and he probably landed badly when he was going bonkers about the mailman being outside. Poor wee man
My kids got me a gift certificate for a tattoo for Christmas. I finally connected with the artist and sent her my inspo. It’s going to be a manatee. Here are my inspiration photos. I want full color. The all black and white with two is just to give her the look of a manatee.
Some more gorgeous Spanish moss and some orange trees. I miss January in Florida when the oranges are ripe for the picking!
Here’s George in his brand new Santa suit with his current favorite tennis ball sitting on his pillow with his blankies.
Time for the second half of my matinee! “Plan 9 from Outer Space.” I love Ed Wood movies.
Here’s the shade tho! It looks better when I’ve got some color in my skin but I love it!
Yummy! We’re going Monday evening again this week. I did get to see this today after my daughter dyed my hair pink again!
I just took some quick snaps but look at this sunset. It’s rare to see a flaming one like this where I live. This was taken from my doorstep.
Slowly. My daughter was supposed to be here 2 minutes ago to pick up Vincent. I’m just waiting on her.
Morning Ree! I’m babysitting my daughter’s dog for the night. He doesn’t feel like posing for me today. 😂
This is George and his itchy belly. I live in a great city, Richmond, VA. My son owns a restaurant called Gold Lion Community Cafe. He feeds people who need food. They can come in 2 times a day and ask to go on Duke’s Tab. They eat free, no questions asked. He’s done 1K meals this year.
RIP to this cicada, born too late to fulfill his or her purpose. It climbed out of its skin and climbed this yucca shrub and expired without ever hearing or playjng a cicada’s magical song. It died and clung for all time. I love cicadas. #nature photography
No Time for Sergeants, 1958. This is one of my dad’s favorite movies. I decided to watch it this morning and it really just made me miss him. He loved Andy Griffith.
We had some visitors to the cabin while I was on vacation. Mama is in photo 1 and baby is in the photo 2.
His name is George. He’s the cutest dog in Virginia! Shame his personality is more Cujo than the muppets he resembles. 😂 He hates strangers, other animals (except his brother, Vincent), and when bugs fly into the window glass. He’s really a love bug… just has strong dislikes and likes!
I don’t know how he sleeps with a tennis ball in his mouth but he does it a lot!
