That doesn't sit well with me at all. It gives me horror flashbacks to the time when Puss in Boots: The Last Wish had a depiction of a panic attack that was realistic to the point of resonating with so many people… too many people, to the point where the topic of discussion became regularly mocked.
So earlier today, I went on TikTok (common mistake) and came across this little sketch by user ichris.topher; it's a harmless joke with a cute twist, but it also incidentally warned me of something; that people are getting sick of this catchphrase and how much it's being pushed to the point of meme.
The music industry is in a good place right now. It's in a very good place, where normal things happen and enjoyable yet ordinary experiences are had by the people who deserve it, who work hard for their music & shows to be as good as they can be. The music industry could not be in a better place th
One day, I will be tried for the cardinal sin of having an unpopular opinion on the internet.
I'd say the new RAWINTHEVOID album, RAD!O EX!LE, is perhaps the most accessible work of his so far. It's the most sonically consistent out of anything he's done this decade, and the light concept around the music industry lends to room for him to supply his most pop-oriented samples yet. Great time.
Sometimes, the only way people should digest christtt's social justice whatever is through this video version of the album on this website. socialjusticewhatever.com
Already way ahead of that. [screenshots sourced from a friend yesterday]
08. [[[∎∎∎]]] – LE MONDE CYBERNETIQUE (2019) French signalwave is one thing. French signalwave that is scant, dark, empty and minimal is another. It's less than 10 minutes, but it uses a lot of silence, faint static, sparse slowdowns, and eerie loop ideas to make for a pretty damn stark experience.
07. NEW MEXICAN STARGAZERS – pockets of interests (2026) Recently, I had a garbage argument that led to me being fearful of how esoteric my tastes are and doubting my place in the world. Then I put this album on for the first time to drown myself in and the results were cathartic. Thank you, River.
06. You, the End – I'll wait for You, the End (It felt so short, you know) On a similar note, this mini album has been on my mind a lot lately. (hii You! :3) A desolate, worn-down, rugged, distorted string of vapor tracks made from old, almost classical samples. It's always a strikingly sad listen.
05. ░計◈画░ – ♥♥♥テレビ√接続✈ (2018) I don't know how people come up with this, but at the same time, why does it hardly ever comes up more these days. An emotionally strained broken transmission vapornoise vent album with brilliant samples and captivatingly abstract sonic vignettes that last for seconds.
04. Riot Ten – Requiem for a Riot (2025) I didn't say they had to be good albums. At the top of the year, I touched base with the EDM world and found this Monstercat release to be so critically panned to the point of becoming a meme, and I end up having a riot of a laugh every time I listen to it.
03. 회사AUTO – Greatest Hits (2016) I've been spinning this a lot lately. This is an incredible gateway into the man's music, and a brilliant showcase of the upbeat, sporadic, and glitchy impact he left behind in the vaporwave scene before he moved on to more original electronica. Rest in peace, man.
02. 아버지 – unscathed (2021 It's a short bundle of outtakes from across the christtt side-project, but what lands it here is not how eclectic it is for 20 minutes, but rather how 'residual' always captivates me; it's only a slowed & chopped-up indietronica song, but it just sounds so passionate here!
01. NEW GAIA – NEW GAIA (2016) I just can't stop playing this album. This might be one of the best traditional vaporwave albums of all time, and it was made by Equip, post-Subhumanizer & pre-Palace in the Sky. It's a brilliantly succinct display of what can be achieved by basic vaporwave standards.
Here. Have my extremely long-winded but still compacted review of Nobody Here: The Story of Vaporwave (2026). letterboxd.com/hithisisdecl...
This will surely get me positive attention on the internet. rateyourmusic.com/list/DeclanL...
Not enough people know what to do with this sort of vapor. Lost, broken, lonely tapes. °?°
These days, the more unsteady, fractured, or even subtly horror-tinted elements of vaporwave do exist today and add a deep sense of intrigue, but they're much harder to find, and even when you do, they're more likely to be intricately crafted with plenty of effects, amazing as the results still are.
I have never felt this trapped before in a video game in my life.
I've been waiting for this moment for all my life. Oh lord. One of my biggest projects ever. Enjoy. rateyourmusic.com/list/DeclanL...
"hardvapour 2.0" this, "post-internet vapor" that, both terms coined for this sound I’ve been seeing grow these past couple of years, both terms that honestly suck for what they’re trying to represent. How’s does "plunderbeat" sound? rateyourmusic.com/list/DeclanL...
This is excellent because it displays what era her music's set in under this alias while showing with almost complete transparency when the music was released, even down to the day. It makes understanding these albums' places in music history that much easier to comprehend and it's wholly admirable.
