This is not the behaviour of a decent human being or a competent Foreign Minister #nzpol “With China clearly taking note of Peters’ latest outburst, former PM Helen Clark said Peters was failing in his duty as foreign minister to maintain and build relationships with strategic partners” 1/2
I don’t give a damn how the men are feeling tbh, (there’s also a picture of Seymour) in this article but not one of the wahine Leaders Chloe and Marama - the ones actually offering a possibility of a better future for Aotearoa and not the same old same old with different coloured curtains. #nzpol
Following on from the Wahine Collective at the Election Forum below. Well over 1000+ people in the room. #nzpol Change is possible.
We have just one in our garden and I love it. The flowers against a blue sky, the scent, the autumn leaves.
National: Fixing the basics. Yeah right. National/ACT/NZF have decimated the basics. #nzpol
Birthday celebration prep underway. My partner of 49 years turns 71 today. Rā whānau Kev. 🎉❤️😊🎂
“Asking people to work below poverty wages so you can be in business is entitlement at its finest. You are asking human beings to subsidise your desire to own a business” #nzpol
Wow. Go Ash and the team. My win is remembering to take walks in the park no matter how busy I am and to do some stretches before I head out.
In the context of a Govt tossing people out of work, driving down wages and safety at work, it’s cheering that new employers are still becoming accredited and LWEmployers are sponsoring the Living Wage Movement to spread the word. #ShopLocal #ShopLivingWage #NZpol www.instagram.com/p/Da_Y4cggJF...
National’s Paul Goldsmith thinks consent is complex. #RapeCulture #Misogyny
Most of our neighbourhood has disappeared in a sea of fog in our little valley in Titirangi.
Rhetoric, bullshit but no hope in evidence. #nzpol NZF Resources Minister Shane Jones denies he is a hypocrite over his support for mining, and says a controversial gold mine proposed in Central Otago will be “akin to a beauty spot on the alabaster face of a beautiful woman”.
No hope here. #nzpol Winston Peters says law change will result in deaths, but party won't block it.
“Studies show that unionised workplaces negotiate better pay and conditions. The more members at your workplace, the stronger your bargaining power.” #Protection #Connection #Rights Find Your Union union.org.nz/find-your-un...
“A mature country doesn’t run from its history” says Winston Peters, one of the Coalition Government Leaders in that stopped NZ History being taught in schools and removed the foundational document - Te Tiriti o Waitangi - from countless legislation and spent millions removing Te Reo. #nzpol
Sounds like a great culture. Well done. I’ve had a really busy week with extra grandparenting because it’s school holidays but took time out to bake tarts for family for Matariki and today went with a mate to check out water lilies at the domain.
Luxon campaigning on fixing the basics when he’s actually fixing the books to give more to those with the most.
After a walk and before dinner with friends, homegrown oranges are sliced and diced for tomorrow’s marmalade making.🍊🍊🫙🫙
Picture perfect mid morning walk. #MatarikiWeekend #TāmakiMakaurau #aotearoa
First of the homegrown rhubarb and raspberry tarts I’m making for Tāmaki Makaurau based family for Matariki is out of the oven. Tart #2 is baking, 2 more to go.
Exhibition Drive on a cold but sunny morning. #morningwalks #aotearoa
Still my favourite quote from the early years of the Covid pandemic but that applies year in year out, life can be better: “….the Economy is vehicle to serve people, NOT other way around.” - Ganesh Ahirao
Morning walks, Mangere Bridge. A familiar place. I’d stay with my Baba in the school holidays and every Friday evening we’d hit the Mangere Bridge shops to buy a few odds and ends and to pick up fish and chips. #kikorangi
As a person who feels the cold but likes to go out for early morning walks in winter, I can recommend these socks. You get to support the Greens and keep your feet warm. #kikorangi #kākāriki shop.greens.org.nz/collections/...
Marmalade season is on. Batch #2 ready for distribution to family and friends. 🍊🍊🫙🫙
StuffNZ gives the DPM another headline to undermine public institutions/officers because they legitimately investigated a demonstrably failed school lunch programme. A programme that only succeeds at giving $$ to providers. Seymour will brook no criticism and the media gives him licence. #nzpol
A bugger you couldn’t get there but great news for the team. We did 4 days of grandparenting last week ending on Saturday afternoon and on Sunday I prepped gifted limes for a fermented pickle and today I turned our homegrown oranges into marmalade. I feel virtuous af 🤣
