well i started there in ‘23. i think he left two years before me. and our reporting is mainly focused on a separate list of people. he is also referenced there, but it doesn’t mention he worked at WIRED. so we reached out after i learned about it. idk what to tell you, your intuition got it wrong.

I don’t know about the others, but Wes Moore’s people told me on the record he isn’t a member and only gave a talk there a decade ago to promote a book. Dialog leaked two lists. If distinctions matter, the one that’s widely circulating also includes event speakers who didn’t join the club.

I admit, if you ignore where it says ‘unreleased’ right below the headline (and on our homepage), then skip past the part where we say it required a code review, and ignore paragraphs 4, 8, 10, 12, 16, and all the adjectives that mean undisclosed, it does read like an active feature.
