Post transcript: So here's the thing about "Lilith is older than Judaism"

If you worship an entity you call Lilith associated with female empowerment, that's the Jewish Lilith.

If you worship an entity you call Lilith associated with sexuality, that's the Jewish Lilith.

If you worship an entity you call Lilith, that's the Jewish Lilith.

You cannot associate an entity with their Jewish lore, and call them by their Jewish name, and NOT be worshiping the Jewish entity.

Post transcript: I'm not the most knowledgeable on this but I'll give it a go:

There's a lot of conflation of Lilith with older Mesopotamian entities. Namely, the relief of Ishtar is often claimed to depict Lilith (thoroughly debunked at this point) and the lilitu, which were wind spirits iirc. Currently, most academics believe lilitu and Lilith to be false cognates; they do not describe the same entity.

The first time we see the name "Lilith", it is on Jewish incantation bowls warding her away. In ancient Judaism, she was a baby-killer & inducer of stillbirth. Academically, it's believed she was the supernatural explanation for SIDS before we understood SIDS medically.

If you're interested in this, I highly recommend Esoterica's video on incantation bowls!

In the Alphabet of Sirah (written in the Middle Ages), we get the supposed origin story of Lilith: She was Adam's first wife who refused to lay under him and thus was turned into a demon. This is where her female empowerment & succubus aspects become popular, even though there is controversy about the legitimacy of this text (some believe it is meant to be satirical, and not read as literal mythos).

This is why I personally believe that worshiping any entity named Lilith, and who is associated with sexuality & female empowerment, is worshiping the Jewish Lilith and thus a closed spirit.

OC Bio: Paige used to be the lead singer of a punk band made up entirely of demons/tieflings, advocating against discrimination against demonic kind as well as other similar issues. However, when a concert venue was set on fire, only Paige made it out alive. Haunted by survivors guilt, she took everything and moved to the countryside to start anew on a run down abandoned farm, hoping to start completely fresh where no one knows their name.

A pink skinned tiefling with long loosely curled lavender hair and blue eyes. She is wearing makeup, a smoky eye and red lipstick.
She is wearing a white turtleneck dress with a corseted bodice and a layered ruffled skirt. The edges of the skirt and the gothic window design on the corset are pastel rainbow gradients. The dress also has transparent billowing sleeves which sit off her shoulders, which she wears over long fishnet gloves.
Her shoes are dark mauve platforms with ankle straps, and she wears many pearl and beaded necklaces as well as layered chain belts. One of the belts has brass bells, charms, and a bird skull hanging from it.
She also has rose tattoos across her chest and shoulders, and ties white ribbons around her horns.
She is dancing and winking at the viewer.
Marika is a longtime member of a traveling fair, in which she performs as a dancer. She doesn’t have any grand ambitions aside from living a fun, adventurous life. Marika has grown a little callous about love and ambition after living as a travelling performer her entire life, and thinks that freedom from any responsibility and dependence is the only way to be happy.

Breaking in the new year with an updated reference for my current #dnd character’s best friend. The notorious party girl halfling Locket Hophollow! #dndcharacter #myoc #dndoc

Locket Hophollow is a chubby halfling with curly blond hair, medium skin, and brown eyes. She has freckles and her hair is tied back in a green bow, matching her green blouse and pink suspender skirt. She is also wearing pink striped though high socks and a pair of white mary janes.
Locket was a party animal, drinking her way through college and adopting every introvert she found get her hands on, including Zephyr Wallace, an aspiring archeologist. It was a small smoke sesh in an abandoned house she dragged him to where things took a turn for the worse, the building collapsing and killing everyone inside but Zephyr, who now lives both with survivors guilt, but with the mysterious ability to see and soeak to ghosts… except Locket’s, as he later learned from another spirit medium, who has been following him since, probably yelling at him a lot.

My third ever DnD character for the modern outfit set: Kallea! A timid tiefling ranger with severe abandonment issues, and though she’s one of my simplest designs I think she’s very timeless. #dndoc #myoc #dndcharacter #originalcharacter

A cornflower blue skinned tiefling with black hair in two braids, brown eyes, antelope-like horns, and a tail which ends in a heart-shaped tip. She wears a tight long sleeve off-shoulder top in a cream color, she has the sleeves pushed up to her elbows, and is wearing nail polish in a matching color.
Her skirt is gray and ankle length with a darker gray gingham plaid pattern. Her belt and boots are the same gray-brown leather.
Lore below:
Kallea was left on the doorstep of the village elder of a small, isolated desert village as a baby. And she appeared to be a normal human for most of her childhood, only sprouting nub horns and a short tail when she hit puberty.
After being bullied for these traits she hid them with long skirts and bangs in the hopes of blending in enough to live a normal life and not be condemned to life alone.
But when she met another tiefling for the first time during her first un-chaperoned hunting trip, she was taught to use her latent magic, and suddenly not only did her horns and tail grow to their full size, she turned blue! (And she made the campfire explode but luckily no one got hurt!)
This set her off on a wild adventure learning about her true heritage and more importantly what she wants out of life.

Decided to actually draw the rest of my dnd characters in modern fits so here’s my first ever character: Sam! She’s Valor’s little sister, an evocation wizard, and thinks she can run away from all her problems. Lore in alt text. #dndoc #myoc #originalcharacter #dndcharacter

Sam is a very thin elf with ash blond hair cut into a bob, pale skin, and green eyes. It’s hard to tell in a solo shot but she’s only about 5’4 due to being born premature, she never grew as tall as her brothers. She’s wearing a short mustard yellow sweater dress with a large brown leather belt, a dark green long blazer, sheer tights, and thigh high brown suede boots. Her accessories include a green headband, two piercings on each ear: a diamond stud on the outside and a pearl and gold drop earring on the inside, a black choker, and a brown bag.
Everything below this is just lore:
Sam is the youngest of three kinds born to an elven noble family, and was born premature with many health problems. She was named after a human woman who introduced her parents to each other many years ago, and was made fun of as a child for her poor health and strange name.
As such she was at home almost all the time, and learned magic from her father.
Her brother Valor was jealous of his favoritism to her, and blamed her for their mother’s failing health.
When Sam caught her father having an affair, she ran away from home to avoid the conflict, and when Valor was sent to retrieve her she burned his face severely with magic, and has been running ever since, deeply afraid of what he’ll do if he finds her.
She cut her hair short first as a disguise, but found that she actually really likes the style!

Decided to try and design what one of my oldest #dndcharacter designs would look like in a modern setting! Valor is one of my oldest and most beloved oc’s and despite being such a stereotypical edgy rogue I think I did a pretty good job with him! #ocart #originalcharacter #dnd

Planted bulbs today! As much as I try to plant as many native plants as I can, I promised my dad I’d plant daffodils (his favorite). And when I saw this pack of tulip bulbs… well I’m only human, and I can’t resist the siren call of goth flowers!
