* It's for protection. * PFP: Re:Zero * They/it, 21, White/Asian * Multi-Fandom, but Thomas the Tank Engine refuses to give up the spotlight
* it's a very cynical creation that does not exist to compliment the world of thomas, but rather to ride off of its success to try and market the next age group (of boys) * there's far too many characters, you don't get to spend much time with any of them and jack is such a boring protagonist (1/2)
* what happened to it is that i do not like it, i think it's much more freeing (and importantly, fun) to just casually have international friends as part of the railway without them being separated under a trust * i do not fuss about gauges or anything anymore and i am a better person for it
* oh, sweet child, everyone knows that kelly is the world's strongest he/him butch lesbian
* sure, but i think it's hard to point at one episode and say that it's the sole good example for character going forward, emily has more to her than that
* ( TTTE ) * edward circa 1924: "GOODNESS ME GORDON, STOP, WHATEVER ARE YOU DOING TO POOR THOMAS?!" * the proud and strong gordon:
* ( TTTE ) * Rebecca helps out when a problem arises: archiveofourown.org/works/88457896
* i think i have to reserve judgement on her for now, it's easy to see why she's the way she is but, she also appears to be up to something nefarious and with what we currently have it's hard to give any opinion with real weight on her lol
* i went back and watched the scene in case; it's noted specifically that she was "delighted to see him" and knowing how she's handled in the show, i have to doubt that it was meant to be a trick on her part
* i have to disagree sorry, the quarry is /her/ domain and the only one she'd be showing it off to is daisy -- or any other engine who she thinks genuinely recognises her * she in the film seems to be aware of spencer's reputation, i think that it's just not fitting
* it is a fever dream of a special, where it does have many sincere moments (with hiro/victor being obvious highlights) but equally has moments that are so odd. i obviously can point to kerry shale topham, but even then, what prompted that mavis scene. * why was she sincerely happy to see spencer.

* #DELTARUNEspoilers DELTARUNE chapter 5 spoilers // * . . . * . . . * The Diner.
* emily is allowed to be excited, she's entitled to nerding out and being heard even if others don't take that advice (again, see james) * she can still be confused by the others' behaviour in a way that doesn't make her come across as a bit cold, her being like "OK. . . ???" to philip is so funny
* if you want a femme character in the main cast capable of being more smug without bending over backwards, nia is literally that. * she clearly knows when she's won over the others, she enjoys getting them a bit fired up over it and is just having fun. * this makes her and emily so fun together.
* she's inquisitive, she wants to understand the others and takes the time out for them in a way that the others don't (it's just not in their nature to be so forward as that) * she likes logic! something that the other engines largely lack, and when she has that logic challenged she likes learning
* she can still be impatient in a way that's distinctly hers and she is still down to tease others when * there are ways of letting her speak her mind and try enforce a bit of order without making it so the others are sick of listening to her, and try avoid doing so
* she asks about others, she checks in on them, she is very aware of how they're feeling and whilst she can be endeared by when they're being goofy, she knows when enough's enough and doesn't have issues saying as much (and getting fed-up when it falls on deaf ears) (james' ears)
* HiT emily stories are mostly one of two ways: her refusing to listen to anyone, or being angry that no one's listening to her when she's being rude * that's not fun. even in her more minor appearances like "thomas' milkshake muddle" she's just mean for no reason- hey this is the same signal box
* emily makes time for others, she goes out of her way to make sure that they're doing alright and makes sure any concerns are seen through * she does not just tell someone that they suck and that she doesn't have time for them, and then refuse to listen to anyone when they try explain themselves
* and what's the big HiT era emily moment everyone loves? * the one where she's made out to be completely incapable and should just leave everything to toby, in the single episode that entire era toby was ever portrayed as anything but stupid and old
* HiT emily is harsh on others when she has no reason to be (obvious moments being how she treats molly and diesel, the latter of whom she'd have her doubts over but emily would never shut anyone DOWN like that) * having your sole girl character be "bossy" so others don't listen to her is very bold
* whilst i appreciate the enthusiasm, please note that 1) not every character would be covered (it would more focus on characters i've already planned out), 2) it would also be discussing locations possibly, 3) there likely wouldn't be tons on backstories, more focusing on personalities (1/2)
* i need to do that SFA lecture i'm realising; magpie was a real engine that was preserved by the NWR, you can learn a bit about her in the database for now (and with this sprite edit of the lovely princess-muffins' diesel 10): docs.google.com/spreadsheets...
* this would require me to know enough characters to really make anything worthwhile, the main one that comes to mind is that magpie has the voice of cipher of honkai: star rail lol
