Don’t tell me you support your local live music scene if you aren’t going an hour out into the burbs on the train to see your favorite Beatles jam band cover band guitarist play a solo acoustic show at a bar at 2 in the afternoon on a Sunday. This is Ryan Mannix from Lunar Ticks / Beat The Meatles!
Nice long bike ride today up to Ravinia. Had to make sure everything was ok for @goldlikejoel.bsky.social next Saturday. It is.
I think I’m making a return to Shoe Fest this year after all. Nice little Chicago crew making the trip this year. Shame about Frasco taking up valuable real estate on the lineup, but it is what it is.
My friends’ excellent Beatles tribute band Beat The Meatles is playing Revolver in its entirety tomorrow at Martyrs’ to celebrate its 60th birthday. Very excited for this show.
Love a free outdoor show on a beautiful Chicago summer evening Budos Band bringing the goods in downtown Chicago.
Budos Band are playing a free show tomorrow evening at what is undoubtedly one of the most scenic city venues in America, Jay Pritzker Pavillion. Very stoked to be back there.
Rush was incredible last night. Seriously, they still got it. Impeccable playing. Production was top notch. Anika Nilles is such a badass. Seeing 2112 performed in its entirety to open set 2, I can’t even begin to describe it. They were having the time of their life on stage playing together.
This is amazing. 10/10 so far. Xanadu > Limelight > Subdivisions to open the show
Set some dates and pitched this as a group trip to some friends and got resounding yesses from all of them! Now I just have to keep them on the hook for the next 15 months. Easier said than done, but I have a good feeling about it.

Out here in Milwaukee. Freddy Jones Band & Little Feat for $20
Brought a handful of books to the little free library on my block. Decided to flip through them first, and found this
