Sci-Fi author and satirist probing the nexus of advertising, brain implants, Citizens United, and post-truth reality. Organic olive farmer. Climate hawk.
Just found this review that is too good not to share. “If Black Mirror, Blade Runner, and Amazon Prime’s Upload had a literary lovechild, it would be Derek Cressman’s Virtuality.
“Ready Player One meets Idiocracy meets 1984’s Oceania, this is a must-read for fans of thought-provoking science fiction—one with the potential to become a dystopian classic.”—BlueInk Review of Virtuality
It’s exciting to be in NYC for the release of Virtuality, my post-Orwellian, pre-Matrix dystopian tale of a world where advertisements and infotainment stream directly into your brain implant.
I managed to survive the domestic terrorist antifa organizational meeting at the No Kings Rally. Looking forward to collecting my George Soros check!
If you put your head in the sand, suddenly there’s no pollution to be seen.
Climate change is not only real, it’s getting worse real fast. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/26/c...
King Elon has had just about enough from the uppity MAGA peasants.
Seems like we’re posting roses today. This one’s from my front yard.
I’ve decided to spend a lot more time outside and listening to live music for the next four years.
It’s fiction vs reality. Fiction won. That’s the whole shootin’ match.
JD Vance on Taylor Swift: “I don't think many people are going to be influenced by a billionaire celebrity who I think is disconnected from the interests and the problems of most Americans.”
This is the Park Fire burning near Chico, CA as seen from our olive orchard this morning. This looks almost as bad as I recall the Camp Fire looking in 2018. It’s hard to describe the sickening feeling this puts in my gut.
I managed to tow an electric tractor from Santa Rosa to Oroville using my Ford F150 Lightning. I had to unhook and park the trailer in order to charge but otherwise it went pretty smoothly.
Kinda wondering about the political dynamics within this household…
Just lost power in Sacramento. I’ve plugged in my fridge and microwave to my F-150 lightning that has 80% charge. Curious to see how long I can weather the storm.
