Located in the Sonoran Desert, USA. Secularist since forever, vegetarian since 2001 & (retired) AR activist if that tells you anything...
My first large-scale floor-store tile mosaic on cement board that I made. It had been on a sturdy table leaning against a brickwall for years & last night's haboob brought it down. Luckily I was able to exhibit it to the public three times.😢
My latest drawing ready for a watercolor wash. 11x14 mixed-media paper.
Now Playing: More batshit crazy B&W trash from Robert Aldrich. Genuinely scary folie a deux in a crumbling mansion explained in the twist-ending. With the sole voice of sanity being 23 yr-old Victor Buono in his first role as a sleazy 3rd-rate musician pulling a romance scam on Baby Jane.
Now Playing: "Making of Daybreakers' full-length documentary in HD.
This weekend's art project: Modeling paste & metallic acrylics on a spray-painted 14x14 canvas.
Now Playing: I have a dinner & movie date with widow N. tonight to see The 'satanic" Minions & Monsters. ❤️ the elaborate slapstick set pieces. The guys behind these movies are real smart-asses!
And NO ads! My 55-in 4k MicroLED Fire TV automatically upscales hi-def to 4k UHD & wow...
Now Playing: "Im Queen Victoria, and I hate pirates!" Why didnt they make a sequel???
Another week of Fantasy films up-converted from hi-def to 4k. No surprise i was couch-locked from gummies all week after work! #lastfourwatched #LetterboxdFriday
Now Playing: in the 1970's arty films frequently played in Art Museums, where I saw this as a teenager with Satyricon in 16mm with my dad & stepmother. The audience was hipster couples, whose only response to these movies was low-chuckling. You got alot of social currency for seeing Satyricon.
Now Playing: After reading the play, our 10th-grade Humanities teacher showed us this in 16mm in class, in a suburban public high school in the early 70's. No parental permission needed. We also had an all-school assembly to watch Zefferelli's Romeo and Juliet. Somehow we survived.
Now Playing: "WABBIT TWOUBLE" Supervised by WOBERT CWAMPETT
Now Playing: #Johnwaters best Hollywood film. You have to wonder if in this cinematic universe, Beverly Sutphin & Francine Fishpaw cross paths.
420 Peacocks & Platypuses. Acrylics on a spray-painted 14x14 canvas. Probably the stoopidest 'art' i have ever created. NFS.
Now Playing: Its going to be an action-packed Friday night! Conan the Barbarian was very popular when it came out in 1982. Word of mouth said you HAD to see it & theaters were packed. I saw it with a VERY reactive audience & alot of people went 2-3 times.
3PM in east Mesa, Arizona; and I think this is as high as it will get today. One look at the humidity and you see it's a DRY heat here in the Sonoran Desert. Send rain!
It's Fantasy Week. I've watched Fantastic Planet quite a bit (It was a rotating Midnight Movie in the '70's) & I STILL cant figure out the plot. I think it contradicts itself. #lastfourwatched #LetterboxdFriday
In the US in 1961, gasoline was 31 cents/gal; equivalent to $3.38 today.
Metallic acrylics on a spray-painted 16x20 canvas. The moths are Deathheads.
Now Playing: High on Pink Dragonfruit on a lazy Sunday & watching my favorite cartoons...
Now Playing: All the hi-def supplements on disc 2 first, then the movie's hi def transfer from a newly restored & remastered 4K version.
Current state of my living room 'gallery'. Im beginning to think im an eclectic artist. This all started about 10 yrs ago when I started making desert landscape mosaics with floor store tiles.
