Hegseth comes out for .. gender-affirming care? (I’m not trying to make light of the deeply impactful harm of anti-trans actions by this admin — but FFS, we live in the dumbest timeline and the very least self-reflective people are in charge)
Tomorrow is the final day of the #GreatOhioClimateMarch! Join us in Columbus for any or all: - 9:45am for the last 3 miles (Wolfe Park to statehouse) - 12pm for the rally at the statehouse - 2-5pm lobbying legislators greatohioclimatemarch.org
Yesterday marchers went past fracking pads and injection wells that are right next door to people’s homes! Those fracking pads are owned by companies that also have leases to frack in state parks and on public land Public land that belongs to all of us!
The marchers are committed and putting their bodies into motion — I can’t join today but they’re going strong! Take a minute to have their back and call the state house!
I couldn’t join the marchers today, but here they are coming down the path! The goals of the march are to raise awareness about the need to protect Ohio’s environment, especially its public lands from fracking and destructive resource extraction May 28 is Lobby Day in Columbus with legislators!
The destructive resource extraction on public land that clear-cuts and pollutes — eradicating habitat, fracturing the ground, polluting the air and soil This needs to stop #GreatOhioClimateMarch
The woods — and all of its green bits and plants and processes and animals and life in it Amazing
Here are some photos from day three of the #GreatOhioClimateMarch
It’s quite a sight to walk by what used to be the offices of the local daily paper on primary Election Day and see the desks and file cabinets in a demolition dumpster…
A sitting monarch defending democracy to a wannabe-king, on a visit to an ostensibly democratic country which fought a war to rid itself of said king’s predecessor My head hurts
What is this utter drivel of a narrative that the Pope is *apolitical*??! He’s the head of a sovereign f’ing country! Is this the regurgitated fever dreams of people that thought that SCOTUS was (ever) apolitical??
Space is the domain of all humankind, not just those bent on wringing every last drop of profit from it! We set out to find a path to celebrate human endeavor without cheerleading for extractive colonizers — and pointed out some of the most popular positions and their problems along the way!
And lots of volunteers made the event go smoothly — working together makes the task a lighter lift! Many people also donated food, a whole trailer full of it!
Speakers covered topics including Wooster’s connection to the Revolutionary War (No Kings, indeed!), environmental issues, support for immigrants, economic justice, and veterans — and all with an emphasis on what steps people can take to make a difference!
No Kings, now or ever! Today, we had 850 people in Wooster, Ohio — along with six inspiring speakers, hundreds of postcards written to elected officials, and a whole trailer full of donated food that will go to people that need it!
Whomst.. whomst amongst you could have POSSIBLY predicated this? Oh, most of you? Huh. Weird.
Scholars of colonialism have been saying this for years … and then NYT just writes it in a headline
Turns out the fastest way around the first Law of Robotics is to have a fascist government force the coders to delete it…
Huh, the DOJ has started putting the “Most Wanted” list up on the outside of their building..
