Sakrisøy Stormy Vista: https://www.desparoz.com/sakrisoy-stormy-vista/ Sakrisøy is one of the most picturesque villages in Norway’s Lofoten Islands. Most of the houses are painted in the distinctive yellow colour produced by a mix of ochre and cod liver oil, giving a real ‘pop’ to the vista. Fo...

Is it just me, or is the word 'legacy' a recent change to the description of Lr Classic?
In Feb—Mar this year we visited Norway for spectacular landscapes, to experience a different culture and to get a chance of seeing the northern lights. I am finally getting around to writing about the amazing trip & sharing some of my photos. The adventure starts:
I voted for six of the 10 songs that made it to the ABC Triple J Hottest 100 Australian Songs.
Sculptures on an Arctic Shore There is a black sand beach in Iceland known as Diamond Beach. Ice from the nearby Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon enters the sea through a narrow channel before being washed back onto Diamond Beach. Every visit brings different sculptures. https://www.desparoz.com/sculptu

It's almost 7 years since I visited Wanaka in New Zealand, and photographed #thatWanakaTree at sunrise. The crowd disappeared almost as soon as the sun was up. I hung around & captured this image. I love re-discovering old images and finishing them off for sharing. https://www.desparoz.com/wanaka-b
Perspective of the western sky from near Tharwa, ACT, showing Crux (the Southern Cross), the Coalsack Nebula and the Carina Nebula. #astrophotography #canberra View at
A foggy morning provided wonderful scenes at Mulligan's Flat. This image was created the morning after a good evening of astro at the same spot. Mulligan's is a woodlands sanctuary with beautiful daytime views of Canberra, alongside the flora & fauna.
Full moon over Canberra, Australia, as shot on 15 Dec 2024. Captured on a Fujifilm X-T5 with a 70-300mm lens at 300mm, and a 1.4x teleconverter. #astrophotography #moon
In 2002 I shot an #underwaterphoto image of a Grey Nurse Shark off Sydney 🇦🇺. I only have a low res scan, and I've just run it through #Topaz #PhotoAI and got a really good (IMHO) upscaled image. What do you think?
An #astrophotography #timelapse of the Milky Way, shot at Strathnairn, on Canberra's 🇦🇺 western edge. The timelapse itself was shot on a #FujiX-T4, and the other images on a #FujiX-T5.
Here's a pano photo from my #Astrophotography early morning session at Strathnairn, ACT earlier this year. https://www.desparoz.com/strathnairn-nights/
Back in June I spent the early hours of a cold morning capturing astro photos, panorama photos and timelapses of the Milky Way in the western sky of Strathnairn in Canberra's west. #astrophotography Visit these images at https://DesParoz.com
Here's a wonderful timelapse of #theAuroraTree south of Canberra, 🇦🇺. This is a great spot for capturing the Southern skies close to our nation's capital. Check out my blog post at www.desparoz.com/the-aurora-t... #Astrophotography #AuroraAustralis #LandscapePhoto #Nightscape
My favourite GPS hiking app Gaia GPS has introduced a Light Pollution Map. It requires a premium subscription, but it is one many who hike already have.
Bob’s Ridge. A dead tree along the Cascade Trail near Thredbo, NSW. Setting out on a foggy morning, we did the 10km out and back hike to Bob’s Ridge. Read more at DesParoz.com
The Aurora Tree on Canberra’s southside is a wonderful plus to catch sight of the Southern Lights when the conditions are right. Though it can sometimes have dozens of people out trying to get a glimpse, I had this spectular scene all to myself on this night. See more at DesParoz.com
Gundaroo Star Trails A single image star trail captured over a historic building near Gundaroo in Canberra’s north. View on my blog: www.desparoz.com/2024/06/2…
Snowy Spencers Creek A picturesque creek off the side of the road to Charlotte’s Pass in the NSW Snowy Mountains. Captured on a dramatic day a couple of years ago, I love the remnants of winter mixed with the freshness of spring. View on DesParoz.com
I had a wonderful opportunity last year to visit a Bortle Class 1 location in the Australian Outback for some #astrophotography. The Gondwana Observatory at the Australian Age of Dinosaurs is brilliant for both photography and simply learning about the Universe. www.desparoz.com/2024/04/20/g...
