Worked hard to submit talks and collaborate for WiCySorg 2025 and applied for the scholarship too—only to face rejection and a spot on the waitlist. It’s tough not to question myself, especially during unemployment, when it feels like I don’t belong in these spaces.

Today marks 4 months since being laid off. Even though I’m not feeling like celebrating my wins, I know it’s important to share: • Earned AI en Acción cert • Made Tier 3 WiCyS Scholarship (3rd try!) • Submitted a RenderATL talk proposal

This is my second time or third time trying for the Women in CyberSecurity scholarship, and I made it to Tier 3 this time! 😭 I can’t believe it! I’m super grateful, especially since my confidence has been low lately after my layoff..

My first public video 🙈! After participating in #CommitYourCode, I’ve gained a bit more confidence. It’s been a tough time since my layoff, but I’ve decided to start creating content to share the knowledge and experience I’ve gained over the past 3 years in tech.

Just completed the AWS Cloud Quest: Recertify Cloud Practitioner! It extended the validation of my AWS CP certification for 3 years. 🎉 Those labs were amazing! Now, I need to recertify my Anaplan certification. Time to sleep. 😴

One thing I started doing at conferences, beginning with #KubeCon is passing out ducks! 🐥 It’s a nod to how I got started in tech—it reminds me of the early days of debugging with a rubber duck ☺️. I continued the tradition at #CommitYourCode, and now I’m the Duck Girl lol 😆.

Fun fact: I started my tech journey with Ruby on Rails, thanks to someone teaching me. However, my old computer couldn’t handle Ruby 😅, so I shifted to @freecodecamp.bsky.social (JS), then #100Devs,& later resilient coders. The journey has been wild but so worth it! 🚀 My old setup to now 🥹
