The first sticker is on top of, and mostly obscuring, the second sticker; we can see what looks like a large ribcage, part of a large black triangle, and maybe a desk. It is mysterious!

The cover art for the book (not all of which is visible in this picture) shows is as follows. SEEKING ARTIST FOR BENEFIT BOOK COVER (No AI)

The benefit anthology Suffering the Other is currently in the works and will be published late 2025 or early 2026. All proceeds from this book will be split between RAICES and Transgender Law Center, and authors are taking token payments of $10 and a copy of the book as compensation.

One thing we still need is eye-catching cover art, and I’m hoping to find an artist (no AI) who will do it for $50 plus 5 copies of the book. This is much lower than I usually pay for cover art but since this is a benefit I’m trying to reduce production costs as much as possible. (Lead editor Justin Steele and I are taking copies of the book only, no money.)

I loathe the idea of “for exposure” — all creatives should be paid for their work, period. I know $50 and 5 copies of the book is not much, but the goal of this book is to get as much money as possible to two worthy organizations, not the publisher. Both RAICES and TLC are doing crucial work, helping the two groups most scape-goated and attacked by the T---p regime and their acolytes.
