These waiting times at GICs for a FIRST (first!) appointment are completely outrageous. Over 1000 people waiting over 5 years, and thousands in general waiting years for any appointment. The NHS in Scotland as well as the SNP can fuck off.

Come on. Labour “allies” repeatedly showing themselves up. It’s not secret that trans people aren’t welcoming this sham bill and ban. Yet we need to praise Labour and ignore trans people apparently!

As people predicted, Labour MPs trotting out the conversion practices ban even though it has a massive loophole and doesn’t actually ban conversion practices. Also, what do you mean “How has your trans son been screwed over by this govt?” Do you pay any attention whatsoever?

Personally I would think that the segregation of a minority and systematic attacks on them would be worth mentioning more often than *checks notes* 26 days ago (and noting that those posts were made due to backlash they weren't speaking out that time)

I have a major problem with a lot of the trans 'allies' who are still in Labour. Like, if you actually listened to ANY trans people, in no conceivable way could you make this statement. But here Kate Osbourne is claiming exactly that.

Stephen Kinnock has a trans son. He's proud of that at the same time as being part of a segregationist Government against trans people, one that will leave trans men with no facilities to use whatsoever when out in public. WTF? These people are awful.

James Murray again repeating his transphobic lying talking points today

As such, there was rightly deep concern about the vulnerability of these children and young people, the care and treatments they were receiving, and the surge in referrals. And so, in 2020, NHS England commissioned the leading paediatrician, Dr Hilary Cass, to carry out a review into NHS gender identity services for under-18s.

What Dr Cass uncovered was shocking and scandalous, and she made a series of recommendations for how children can be better protected and supported. It was, in my mind, unquestionably wrong for children and young people to be routinely prescribed puberty blockers for gender dysphoria without any clear evidence on their benefits or risks. The situation then was out of control and so I fully supported the indefinite ban introduced by my predecessor, my right hon. Friend the Member for Ilford North (Wes Streeting), which followed the temporary ban brought in by the previous Government."

What about the threat that Burnham poses? He's about to be PM and is determined to continue the Government's transphobic crusade. Here he is, in his own words, explicitly backing trans segregation and the EHRC code.

And this from our new transphobic Health Secretary, literally factual inaccuracies, and endorsing conversion practices as a first line response - no, most children don't just 'question their gender in that way', no, therapy is completely ineffective and is just conversion again

For many young people, questioning their identity on many different fronts is a normal part of growing up, and we should simply let them be. For a small number of young people, though, greater support is needed because of the level and longevity of the discomfort that they feel. That can often involve counselling or therapy. For a very, very small number of young people, it is possible—I emphasise the word “possible”—that medical treatment would help to improve their quality of life and mental health, and reduce their gender-related distress."

I remember arguing with someone who said the Lib Dems were "perfect" on trans rights - what about this is "perfect"? In it Helen Morgan says: "We agree that treatment should first be based on talking therapies" (!) - that reads like an endorsement of the conversion practices first approach.

We support prioritising clinical evidence, so that patients’ interests are put at the heart of decision making in all areas of healthcare. Guidance and decisions around puberty blockers must be led by experts and clinical evidence, and not influenced by ideological opinion. That is why we supported the decision of the former Secretary of State, the right hon. Member for Ilford North (Wes Streeting), to pause the Pathways clinical trial while concerns raised by the MHRA were thoroughly addressed. Will the Secretary of State confirm whether the MHRA has confirmed that the concerns that led to the withdrawal of the trial have been substantially addressed, and how many children are expected to take part in the trial now that its parameters have been altered?"

"What we can say with some certainty is that the most impactful review of gender services for children was seriously, perhaps irredeemably, flawed. The document made numerous basic errors, cited conversion therapy in a positive way, and somehow concluded that the only intervention with no evidence whatsoever behind it was the best option for transgender children.

I have no good answers to share, but the one thing I can say is that the Cass review is flawed enough that I wouldn’t base policy decisions on it. The fact that so many have taken such an error-filled document at face value, using it to drive policy for vulnerable children, is very unfortunate."

The Guardian here completely erasing that a) Brianna Ghey was trans and b) that she was murdered because she was trans. Reading this passage, you'd think Brianna was murdered because she was 'risky' on social media (perhaps through talking to people she shouldn't etc), not because she was trans.

They seem to have a real disdain for nothern cities. Sheffield has been reliably Labour for ages as well and yet we get...no attention at all. Nothing. Similar for Manchester and other cities. Like maybe you should have something to say about this? Labour almost wiped out in Sheffield.

I’m annoyed at this. It simply isn’t our policy. Like what does “fair and managed” migration actually mean? It’s a set of buzzwords that politicians often use to be more anti migration. But our policy is to be very pro migration and I wish he’d stop freewheeling policy on issues.
