As a demonstration: Exhibit 1: ChatGPT begins with some standard Macho Man vocal tics, but somewhere along the actual explanation, it slips back into its "helpful" schtick, then remembers again it's supposed to be the Macho Man, etc. It's also lengthy and meandering (which might be a plus here)

That process is called evaluation.

The chapter is quietly teaching one of the deepest ideas in computer science:

Programs are made of expressions, and evaluating expressions produces values.
